So Ive had a problem for a month or two with my brakes. The old rotors vibrated upon stopping so I assumed they were warped. Well, for Christmas I gave the 80 a complete brake job front and rear with all new rotors and bearings all around. Everything was done correctly ( proper torque settings and bearing preload.) Just to check everything out we measured the old rotors and they were down to just about minimum specs and warped. Now with the new brakes I have a slight pulsing feeling when coming to a complete stop. The calipers looked good and I have no pulling or anything else. The brake fluid is fresh and the lines were bleed correctly. The pads were seated properly and broken in correctly. My only thought is maybe the LSPV valve? It was adjusted after my lift but I was an idiot and did not take before measurements. I did just recently remove my hitch and some weight out of the back so maybe that means I should readjust? What are the symptoms of a LSPV valve out of adjustment? Any other ideas as to what could cause the pulsing?

Howdy! There is always a chance that one or more of the new rotors is warped. I have seen this happen only once, and it was on inexpensive aftermarket parts. Stick an indicator on them and check for runout. John

I have also heard of brand new rotors being warped. If you have access to a dial indicator you can check them on the truck.

I will pull the wheels and check them out. I hope the new ones aren't warped. I went with Toyota parts to hopefully avoid problems like that.

Your tires probably need to be balanced.

First things you check in pulsing brakes in order

Tires (Balance)
Alignment
Then the actual brakes

i actually have the same kinda problem but mine can get quite violent at times:( but i get my new tires on wednesday so ill see if the new rubber helps and if not then ill get an alignment then brakes if need be ?

Tires were recently balanced within the last 500 - 1000 miles and are not that aggressive (Revo AT's ). Alignment was checked and within specs after I installed the OME lift and bushings (around 1 year ago).

Check to see if you have a stuck caliper piston on the suspect side. Did your old pads have even wear? If not, there might be a stuck piston.

This same thing happened to me when I put new pads on. I noticed the outside pad was twice as thick as the inside pad and looked at the pistons as my wife SLOWLY pressed the brakes. There was one piston that was binding and caused the rotor to warp slightly.

Give it a check. JMHO

hmm stuck pisten hey ok ill give that a check pretty soon...if it is the stuck pisten how do i fix that

Rebuild the caliper, but you really should do them in pairs.
