After weeks of searching and months of lurking and learning about the greatest vehicle on the planet, I finally bought one. I toyed with the idea of getting an older 100 series but realized I'd be looking for another vehicle in a few years due to the high mileage. Then I thought, well I can get a 2013-2014 year but after test driving one, it was a little dated inside and coming from a 2016 Tacoma, I learned to appreciate some of the creature comforts that it provided. So I opted for a 2017 with 5,800 miles. Found it down in Phoenix at a dealership. Drove her back up to Vegas the same day and she handled wonderfully. I had reservations about the new 8 speed transmission regarding shift points and gearing but honestly, its buttery smooth and extremely better than my 6 speed Tacoma. I took it into the dirt the next day for a little photoshoot. 50mph on a dirt washboard road, soaked up everything, the suspension is amazing. Updates for this rig are coming. Looking at Tires/Wheels, Roof rack, bumpers, light bars, radio, etc. (long term).
I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences with you all and continuing to learn a lot from you guys.
