Pulled the trigger OME suspension Before and After Pics

Well, I finally bit the bullet and bought OME. There was a 4Wheel Parts show here in Atlanta this weekend and they had some pretty good deals. I spoke directly with the ARB dealer that was at the show and he helped me get all the parts I would be needing. Total out the door including tax was 1286.84. I thought it was a pretty good deal. ARB gave me 10% off of their jobber price plus an additional 50.00 and free shipping. Now I just have to wait for them to come in and I can get my truck up to a respectable height. Sitting on 205000 miles sagging OEM springs right now. Can't wait to get 'em on there. Next up 33x10.50.

Good choice. It is nice to get new springs on it and the OME is what I went with.

Nice score! Be sure to take before and after pictures!

If you are installing them yourself, my only advice is get a torch (if you dont have one already) and burn out your old bushings. I swear i wasted 5 hours pounding away trying to get the old pins thru those old bushings. A torch would have taken minutes...

Well as I am sure you know, ARB is the importer of OME and have one of the best customer support groups I have ever dealt with. They are very helpfull and stand behind there products. If you have any problems or questions....give tech. call and ask for Chris ..... very helpfull.

I used a hardware store propane torch on the pins, got them red hot. ONLY THEN did the stock pins come out of the rotted original bushings with much smoke and sizzling.

ALSO, I would recommend cutting off the u-bolts from springs to axle. I don't have a torch, but I would use an angle grinder with a cut-off wheel ($15 at Harbor Freight).

I wasted a lot of hours/sweat/effort unbolting all 16 u-bolt nuts with a 1/2" breaker bar. What was I saving the U-bolts for? I have no idea!

I told a mechanic friend about what a PITA taking the u-bolts off was. He said "Huh, we usually just torch 'em off. Takes 5 minutes."

D'oh!

My old spring pins were easy to get out. Hammered them in with a rubber mallet then used a quick clamp to get them off the rest of the way

The clamp looked like this:

Worked pretty well :D

my trigger finger is itching. what all did you get with the kit?

It's a very nice ride, I've been very impressed with the setup on my 60. Enjoy and get us pics!

My brother in law just redid his suspension with 4 in alcan springs, so he's going to help me put mine on. He's already suggested cutting the ubolts with a grinder. No need to save them. I've been shopping around for quite some time. I called ARB to make sure I was going to get all the parts that I needed and I spoke with T.R. who suggested I wait until the show here and he would make me a good deal on the whole set up. I met him at the show and he was extremely helpful and patient going over all the part numbers and some excellent pricing. As far as what I got for the money:
2- CS004F heavy front springs
2 - N88 heavy front shocks
2 - CS004R A/B medium rear springs
2 - N90 medium rear shocks
4 - OMESB1 spring bushing kit
4 - OMEU51 front u bolts
4 - OMEU59B rear u bolts
1 - OMESD24 steering damper
1 - OMEGS1 rear greaseable shackle kit
1 - OMEGS2 front greaseable shackle kit
2 - OMEGP1 front and rear greaseable pin kit

Now I just have to wait for them to get here. I'm told it will be about a week. I'm hoping I'll get them in time for the long weekend this weekend, so I can get them put on. I know they're supposed to lift about 2-3 inches but with the sag I've got going on it may end up being more. What kind of difference have you guys seen going from sagging stock to OME?

sounds like you got a great deal. I am jelious for sure. When i replaced my worn out springs on my 40 i went with a 2 1/2" and it raised it up 4". it will depend on how much your stock springs are sagging.

So what made you decide on the Heavy/Medium arrangement of the springs?
Why not Heavy/Heavy? Just trying to understand the deciding factors.

P.S. Congrat's on the upgrade.

I don't normally carry a lot of weight and I didn't want my everyday ride to be too stiff. This being my daily driver, I needed to find a "best of both worlds" combination. T.R. at ARB thought this would work best.

Cool, nothing like OME on a 60. Not trying or wanting to revive any "cruiser lean" topics but do want to say there should be none when you're done. Rears should measure the same. I have the lean, flipped the rears and have the lean the other way, don't accept those results if it happens to you. I'm finally getting around to doing something about mine with Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters.

Like they said: before and after pics are required ;)

Finally got it installed today. Me, my father in law and brother in law started on it this morning. Everything came off really easy. Bushings came right out. U-bolts came right off. No need for a torch on anything except for the steering damper. So anyway, here are the before pics.

what size are the tires you have on there in the pictures?

looks great!!!

Wow, that does look great. I'm talking with a local arb dealer this week about prices. Looks like the rear A/B setup resulted in a very level stance.

Thanks. I'm really pleased with the way it sits. The install was really straight forward and simple. It would have taken about 6 hours, but I had the hardest time getting the old steering damper off and I had the rear springs on backwards at first so I had to flip those around. But everything turned out great. Tires are 31x10.50x15 When these wear out I'm going to go with 33's
