Pull pins for spare tire swing-out? (5 Viewers)

I have a Dobinson's swing-out (dual jerry cans and spare-tire). The pull pins have a big warning sticker on them "Warning: Manual Operation Only", meaning that the pin must be lifted rather than rammed into place. Last weekend, while I was setting up our camp, my darling bride proceeded to ram the spare-tire swing out into the pin stay 3-4 times.

Bent the pin so that it won't lift or lower, rendering it useless.

I've got to cut the pull pin off and weld on a new one.

Anybody else have any recommendations?

You might look at Mcmaster-Carr. They have something similar that will lock into the retracted position (called the "wife setting").
