While the mechanical key will get you into the passenger compartment, you’re not getting the back open without power.

Hadn’t started the 200 for a few months and it was flat. No problem this time because I have jump packs in the other vehicles. Could have sucked if remote.

I've learned this lesson the hard way being out on a wheeling trip

Yep and that's also why I don't keep all my recovery gear in the drawers when wheeling. You get in an awkward situation and can't open rear door and pull the drawers out....

I'm confused... can you not press the button on the underside of the hatch, and push it up by hand? Or is the battery "so dead" that the button doesn't even work?

I recently forgot to turn my headlights off and drained the battery over the few days the LX sat without use. Couldn't start it, but it easily opened the rear hatch via the button in the interior, and lifted itself all the way up. I'd imagine that even with a further-drained battery, the exterior button should open the lock.

And yes, my own GB70 was in the rear.

Yeah, it was dead dead. No dome light or anything. Without a mechanical handle there’s no way to open the rear hatch.

So if the rear cargo area is a no-go, what's a good spot for the battery booster? Show us pics!

I wonder if a small, soft bag, could be clipped on to the headrests from behind the 2nd row? That would still be accessible (for those without cargo barriers) from the 2nd row, if needed.

I’ve never thought about this situation. I can jump from my 2nd battery but even that could fail so I should move my jump pack I guess.
