Hello,
I have a question about the drive shaft, does the slip yoke go on the transfer case side or the differential side and why?
I have found conflicting answers to this.
Thank you,

Why? No idea. :D

My 1980 factory service manual shows both slip yokes on the transfer case side.

Agree with this, but on the early FJ 60s the front shaft is reversed due to it having a CV at the transfer case. On my SO Piggy, I ran both driveshaft with small end away from the transfer case because I had custom CV driveshafts on both ends. Ran fine for about 20 years that way. Only reason/logic I can think of for the factory arrangement is to keep the slip joint a little higher up and farther away from water/dirt/snow/whatever. John
