Thats strange because the ecu is looking for a signal from the rear O2 that is different from the front. The converter is responsible for that. Being you have a 3FE that would mean its a pre 95 correct? That would explain why it works I think. Your system would be OBD1 and I believe the ecu looks at the O2s differently.euclid said:Gary,
FYI.. My 3FE has been without cats for about 3 years.. code free. I even did a custom exaust and moved both of the 02 sensors down stream about an inch per sensor without problems. Both of mine are still hooked up. I thought about doing a dummy load, but decided it wern't broke, so why fix it.
