Bought the tires today. 13.50/40/17s MTRs. Also got a huge amount of work done on the brakes, fuel lines, and steering column. I removed all of the ABS system including the ABS pump and all redundant brake lines. It is now a simple 4 wheel disc brake setup with emergency brake. The steering column is in and tomorrow I hope to have the firewall support cut to fit the booster and get it all mounted up. The fuel tanks is being made (24 gallons) and the radiator brackets should be done by the weekend. The cab will come back off and all holes not needed will be welded up. Then all the body parts will go to the chemical strippers to be dipped. It will get galvanised then primed. Next on the list is, I need to find a seat of some sort. I want a bench so I can sit the 3 of us when needed, and have 54" to work with. If anyone has a mid size truck that can get me some measurements, it will help on narrowing down the search.

Look into 3 custom buckets in there from Beard or something. Would keep you 3 in place much better than a bench. You could go low-back for the look.....

Lots of folks offer free shipping on those types of seats oin the Pirate vendor section. Mastercraft, Beard and PRP...all the same type of seat. Find the best deal there. Also, Tom at PSC is a dealer and you may be able to work some ARB trade type stuff with them now that they are doing work at the new shop in Azle.
 
Wheels. You told me at the RoundUp what you had in mind. Any luck? Saving them as icing for this post?

Yeah, back from New Orleans on the 30th...back to work. Now we get to help deal with all of the thugs NO shipped to Dallas...oh well, pay is decent.

Crap. I was looking forward to those steelies. Post a pick of the test fit...see you at the meeting?
 
Here is a shot with Nolens 40s under it. I jacked up the body in front 4 inches over stock until I had clearance. I jacked up the rear by the axle until it sat level. I had 1 tire wheel combo so its photochopped. It looks like a set of J springs in the rear with a 1 inch spacer and in front I will need a 6" spring to give me 2 inches more than the picture. The tires tuck into the front fenders really nice with 0 rubbing at 2 inches of compression. The rears fit up under the fenders perfect. My hats off to JK Customs. Its just the way I like it.

Awesome rig, can't wait for the final product. You probabl mentioned this already but what color are you going to paint it?
 
I am hoping to have it ready for lone Star Landcruisers Roundup in March. It has as many trucks as Moab and is close. As long as fuel is no more than it is now, I will probably get to Moab.

As for color, I am still not sure, but I am thinking factory Cruiser Tan.
 
Hard top, soft top...both?

You don't need me to tell you this, but you are the man. That looks good! I have to admit I was a little concerned when I saw the width of the front fender, but I was wrong. Good luck with the rest of the build-up.
 
Hard top for sure. We gots air conditioning and heat. I like the look of the hard top. I was thinking at first about a soft top, but now I am going the other way with it.
I think with 4" springs in front and 3" in back I will clear the tires fine. It will turn lock to lock now with lots of room to spare unloaded. I am going to run long bumpstops to limit up travel anyway. It works well on my other wagons.
Headache rack?......you have way to much Mississippian in you booooy. When can I get the wheels?

Let me order mine on Monday and see how long they will take. I talked to them on Friday and the price I got them from is still the same.

Toooo Koool, your rigs front fenders with the tube look so factory, like the rears also.

Gonna be a smoking hot ride...........
 
DAM, i might have to take alittle trip down the Aledo and see this beast if i dont make LSLC Roundup!
