Cut the bed today. I measured for about 3 hours until I decided on this spot. With the tailgate system grafted on it will add about 3 more inches. With 38s, it should be close to 90* departure. I am so tired of dragging my a$$ with my wagons that given the choice, I would do this one where it won't drag. I also cut the bed out for the suspension mods I'm doing. After reading all the threads about 80s articulation and talking to Christo extensively, it looks like really long shocks and removeable sway bar links. I want the rear to work as well as the front 3 link.

Soo.. Is this gonna be a wheelin rig?
DD?
Both?

Texican, i think he'll have it. He said for the tailgate, there would be an additonal 3 inches, plus if he rounds it the way the rig is in your pic, i think he's right at it.

I read that.....
3'' ain't gonna do it, plus the LWB does not have the rounded corners shown in the pic, just tossing out my thoughts here........ :flipoff2:

I agree Butch, and don't mind the constructive takes on it. The extra 3 inches turned into almost 5" to make it all fit right. I will post some pics in the morning of the final but the extra length behind the rear wheels helped.

Oh well, your wife is aesthetically pleasing to look at.

Waggoner5, very nice work, that rig is going to kick a$$, keep the pics coming.

Ok that light green 45'ish looks way cool Gary . Can imagine that sort of design on 38's .. WOW  :D

Little bit of fabriction on those rear wheel wells, you could make the openings larger to fit the 38s and make it fit the shorter wheel base?

At this point Im not sure on the wheel well mods. They may or may not be needed. I will be running 6" Slee springs so we will see. I like the Taco wheels though I am leaning towards 17x8 factory look steel wheels.

Hey Gary,

The project is looking good keep the pics coming, I got the frame a week ago Friday, been busy for got to call you.

Thanks again.

For wheels you could also run the factory 80 steelies. They come in 16x8 and would hint at whats underneath:)

How about using the TJ flare in the back....
