Hell I took a FJ-60 title up to the DOT here in TX and I have registration and a title for this......my FJ-60

At least yours looks like an FJ-60! :D :flipoff2:

WOW...Im new to this sight and have been sitting here reading in AWWW....Great build..im speechless!!

Worked all day today making a new brake pedal to fit down lower and closer to the gas pedal. Also got the rear springs attached to the axle with small tabs to keep them seated. The long travel shocks allowed so much axle droop, that the spring literally fell out whe I really flexed it out. Capturing the spring will also help control the droop some. I made the template for a shifter cover but had no aluminum, so tomorrow I will get that started. I also should have the doors with all new glass, rubber and felts installed by the weekend. It will be nice to have a complete truck sans tailgate of course. I will take some more pics tomorrow.

R U bringing it to the meeting???????

Are you going to put any protection/sliders between the cab and the front of the rear wheel well?

What size tube is the cage and do you think the rear hoop would fit a 45 cab with stock seats? EDIT: shorten, the rear hoop and set it up on that back 'shelf'. The front hoop looks like it would interfere with those of us still running a clutch, but if you brought it straight down...Did JK do the cage? The front looks a lot like Metaltechs, profile cage, I've thought of ordering one, but I don't think 2" tube would fit and allow the hard door to close and let me keep my ignition switch in the same spot and use the windshield drop latches. Are you running the stock windshield latches? One more question/suggestion, if you tie a tube across the back bow of your roll bar, you have a spot for a 5-point harness, or are you just going to use a standard shoulder belt?

Looks good, was there any alternative to mounting the radiator where you did?

The cage is a one off for this truck. The windshield catches still work fine. As far as the other stuff, I really don't know how it would work. JK did build the cage and we are going to do another horizontal bar across the back for a good set of seat belts. Right now I am running a set from a donor 60 series rear.
There really was no alternative to running the radiator in the rear. It will not fit in front unless you lengthen sheet metal which I did not want to do. The rear mounting seems to be working great and when I get finished there will be a sudo bed cover allowing to still haul my dog, ice chest etc. with a tailgate included. I am far from finished.

So what's the size of the tubing, 1.5"?

Gary, your junk is looking very nice. Keep the pics coming.

Too many days without pics!

Well here it is as it will be in Moab. Its far from finished and I still have a lot to button up even before Moab, but for the most part this is it. I got the doors on, glass in, front wing windows in, then noticed that the roll bar hits both the doors and the wing window latches so some door clearance was necessary as well as the removal of the catches and replaced with zip ties. Oh well, its too late to remodel. The doors did get all new felts, rubbers, reconditioned regulators, etc, so they do work like they should. Heres a couple of pics also of the underdash, and interior with the shifter cover in place but not LineX'd yet. Had to rig up a spot for the ice chest and didn't feel like taking it back out for pics so sorry for the ugly.
Monday it will be a trip up to Bonham to meet Texican to get all the little caca that came up missing since the teardown in 1987. Butch has his own little herd of dead Landcruisers so when it comes to the little(or big) stuff he always comes through. Thanks again Butch.
