So over Mother’s Day weekend I was blessed with another Landi. My buddy who works at the fire department got a call for an odor fuel smell in a townhome complex. Well, the land cruiser has been sitting in the garage for the last five years and the fuel line Finally let go with the heat we’ve been having and from the tank over pressurizing. So he calls me asking me if I know how to fix it and of course I’m not gonna be able to fix it over the phone.:. so the guy unfortunately has nowhere to put the truck except out in the fire lane in the complex. So he asked if I wanted to jam over with my truck and trailer. so I did being only about 10 minutes away. The owner was actually a little scared since it was leaking right next to his water heater in his garage so after 21 years of ownership, he decided to let it go. I felt kind of bad, but it would be going to a good home. I loaded it up on my trailer and brought it home and started tinkering. I was able to score a header the same day on Facebook marketplace I got it home put a battery in it and it actually fired right up. It wouldn’t idle for s*** even with a choke on so it obviously had some major vacuum leak somewhere so I decided to do a full D smog on it so far I’ve removed the intake the carb and all the associated vacuum lines. Next step is to clean up the intake, pressure wash and clean all the dirt and grime and grease off the motor and do a nice little mechanical restoration on this girl.
