Picked up an old school ConFerr rack today from @cbelgard. Gonna give it some light rust repair and throw a coat of paint on it. Will make a great storage overflow spot for the 40.

Just of note…a 48 x 60 rack pretty much fits in the back of an 80.

Love the old Con-ferr racks. Are you using the original con-ferr mounts?

If you have the mounts and want to part with them, I might be interested. Good place to start for building a roof rack!
This rack didn't come with the mounts, although I'm going to install some, thanks to @Catching Neutral hooking me up with a set he had!

@cbmontgo It was good to meet you at the 30A rover rally. I ended up packing up early and sneaking out with my FJ62 but if you happen to be in the area next year...

Hey Charles, I didn't realize you were on here as well! Great meeting you as well...that 62 is clean!

I missed the 62? Must have been Saturday.

That would be Ruby my 1988 FJ62. Yeah I left Saturday late afternoon for personal commitments back in Birmingham. I go every year and bring a different rig so I'll be back down next year. Hopefully with the 40.

@cbmontgo and @ToyosandHam was great to meet you both at the rally. Man, my 81 FJ40 really puts that red wagon to shame! Lols…just kiddin’ Charles. Some more pics of the event…although none of us was given much love with the British trash around us (and that comment is coming from a guy who restored a 1974 classic mini!). That blue Bronco made my head spin…almost gave up my savings account to buy that on spot.

Rack looks great. I’m headed to Florida to get one for Rosie
Thanks. Stripped it down to bare steel where it was rusty and put a few coats of rattle can on it. Should be solid for a while.

The Con Ferr stuff is finally getting classic and looks right on these rigs again.
