Bastage...

Mine won't have the torque of yours in the low end.

You do have about 80 cubic inches more than I do lol..

For now I only have 3/4 throttle. I did not want to have full throttle available till I had broken the motor in just a bit :D

Power is good but not amazing.

I still need to figure out the rear shocks and the front DS. Front DS is going to have to be a 2 piece jobbie.
Rear shocks may have to angle rearwards.. I might get by with mounting them to the front of the stock upper shock mount and then putting them on the rear links.. Donno yet..

the 80 cubes of long stroke is nice :D

I can't believe you haven't floored it yet, you have more self control than me. with that cam,all of you power is going to be past 3/4 throttle.

driveshafts suck, you don't need a front DS for a daily driver anyways.

As far as shocks, they won't mount to the crossmember?

Get your shocks mounted, & i'll get a tune, then we'll meet at the dragstrip, LOL

crossmember is not the issue

The shock mount has to argue with the PS lower link and the pumpkin..

I'll probably have to lean them forward and connect to the frame..

BTW, I have floored it. I knew that I would, so I have not adjusted the stop yet :D

It sure sounds good now tho :D

Worthless without pics, this thread is

A little birdy told me that Bob got a push home. What happened - not another pre-CM 04 event I hope...

lol

Not even close.

Continuing problems with the CAT rocker arms. New fancy schmancy poly locks on the way by fri.

The main problem I am running into right now is registration. I have to prove that a 1990 lein that Norwest bank put on the title is paid off. F'n Wells Fargo bought them out. So it is like beating my head against the wall..

That sucks... At least it was not self inflicted...

Rockers are easy to replace - no other damage I hope.

Nothing was damaged at all.

Just some noise.

New locks will alleviate the problem

I was wrong when I said "nothing damaged..."

First of all, here is a pic of the truck in my front driveway with the new lift.
Plenty of room for the 35/12.50/15" AT's..

Well, I picked up some Comp Cams "poly locks" To replace the crappy squish nuts that the CAT arms came with..

they are pretty neat, it is like a coupler nut that has most of the hex turned off of it. Then an allen head set screw is placed in the inside of the coupler nut to act as a set screw. VERY effective..

Looked neat excapt that they stick up a bit too tall for the stock valve cover.. I needed to clearance the covers a bit..

I worked across the PS installing the poly locks. Nothin to it. Very simple.

On the DS I started looking at the rockers more carefully, they all show visible wear at less than 200 miles... BTW, I put lube and a hell of a lot of oil on these things.. I also started the motor without the valve cover installed to see if all of the rockers were getting good oil flow..

when I got the to valve that loosened up I found some bad things...

The pushrod was an arc instead of a line..

You can see the damage to the valve tip and the spring keeper..

This made me get a brand new spanking set of Comp cams Roller tip rockers and a couple of new pushrods...

after checking and double checking the pushrods a couple of times. I went to install them..

looks like a crushed lifter....

Now I need to find a spare 5.0 roller lifter. And pull the entire top end off...
.

this reminds me why i still have my stock yota motor even though i want more power really bad

Not a ford issue. It is my fault for using crappy components...

cheap sometimes costs a lot more over time...

Ouch, that hurts! Atleast you are full roller so you can change out just one lifter. Flat tappet & you would be replacing the cam also.

God I hope so..

I still have to check the cam for damage..
