looks like the cam is solid..

The roller lifter came apart in pieces.. The thin metal retaining clip gave up the ghost (I suspect the bent pushrod knocked it out of place.

I pulled the head to replace the valve that has a chunk missing. That should happen by this weekend. Sat I should be able to put the motor back together and GET IT!!!!!

I finally adjusted the motor for full throttle.. When it is back in one piece, I am pegging it.

I figure that the dam motor needs to be put in it's place. I have let the toddler get spoiled.. Time to nip that in the bud...

That sucks you had to pull the head. you might as well pull the crank & pistons and check them while you that far into it! :D

Let me know if you need anything.

Got the head back from the machine shop.

New gaskets show up tomorrow.

thanks for all the offers of help guys :D

Sorry man - That sucks!

Bob does look damn good sitting in the driveway though!!!

Back up and running but I found out that the exhaust might be a bit close to the rear floor board..

You may ask how I know this??

I figured out what the burnt carpet smell I was getting was.. Suprisingly enough, it was burnt carpet ;)

Exhaust is routed right next to the floorboards (and an amazing job was done, thanks Chris) And is not gonna change.

Can I use those metal zipp ties to attach Aluminum double sided heat barrier directly to the muffler without any major issues?

That would be the easiest solution..

I built a 351W years ago and the rockers all started backing off. I got the same lock nuts you show, drove about 3 days and they were loosening too. I got some new, rocker arm nuts from Ford and they stayed put thru many 5K rpm pushes. Mark my words, those allen locks are gonna let you down.

Howdy Chris, Swapped out the fuel pump and the Intake Air Charge Sensor and she puurs like a kitten :D

Been driving Bob all over town this week :D

God damn I need AC tho ;)

Whatever happened to painting this guy? Did you ever do that?

Not painted yet. Still on the list..

You should quit whining about AC and get him painted! If you install AC before you paint it will take longer to cure!
