mace i got a quick Q:

does a triangulated four link not need a trac bar? but a non-tri 4 link would?

There are actually more like three versions of 4 links.

1) uppers and lowers go from the frame straight to the axle. There is no or almost no angle from side to side. This one is a typical roundy round 4 link and requires a panhard bar (not a traction bar) ll ll

2) One triangulated section. Either the top or the bottom links converge (but do not join) the other set of links go straight back lVl No panhard bar needed

3) doubly triangulated rear suspension. This is where both sets of links (top and bottom) angle inwards, with opposing apexes (one apex is on the frame and one is on the axle) this one does not need a panhard bar.

I run the the third one my 40. But the 60 will probably get a Wishbone 3 link (like # 2 but the links actually meet at one big ass joint on the axle lYl )
I really like the reduction in rear steer that #3 gives you. #1 tends to bind easily under articulation (no way for the axle to rotate) and is basicaly what I used on the front of my 40 (cept I removed one of the top links and made a true 3 link out of it). works great if you can make it fit.

Packaging is the main PITA when doing a suspension. Everyone will talk about sqaut, antisquat, rollcenter and a buncha other things but in the end, you typically cannot fit a "perfect" suspension under a rig not designed for it.

Lay out what you can do, start taking measurments, and plug them into the 4 link calculator. Then see how much leeway you have from there.

My brother posted that last night. Becuase he thought a non triangulated 4 link needs a wrap bar. I said it dint, then we fought about it for a bit then he posted that. I said that the links on the upper and lower part on the axle is pretty much the same thing as a wrap bar, because it stops the axle from twisting.

You can't control all 125lbs of that boy???

If you need a Wrap bar (not a panhard bar) for any linked system you are seriously fawked... The links ARE a traction bar of sorts..

Wrap bar goes front to back and stops axle rotation. Panhard bar goes side to side and makes sure the axle stays under the rig where you want it.

SMACK!
Psst, Butch, it is others that are supposed to say you threw down the smack, not yourself..

That is kinda like saying "Oooooo Buuurrrrnnnnn" for soemthing you said yourself while others look on uncomfortably :flipoff2:

BTW, the welds are holding fine now ;)

FAwk!!!

I forgot the input seal

Kind of important.. and difficult to continue without it..

forgot to buy it...

can't get one in town till tuesday..

Gonna try to make the linkage with the tcase partially put together

God's punishing ya' for poking fun at me.....:D :D :flipoff2:

There ain't nobody looking at me at all, and I thought that was dang funnay.

God hates me when it comes to LC mods.

You aint figured that out yet???

Got the shifters mostly done. They won't be completly finished till I get the seals and the Tcase back together. PLus I need to mount them into the rig to see how much throw they will require and what is available.
They are nice because they are fullt adjustable..
I am going to bend the shifters apart for more knuckle clearance and build a "pistol grip" into them..

A nice coat of paint and away we will go :D
