Hey there I'm looking for a 40 for my first car and daily driver. However I'm also looking to find a project one that I can have in my garage and learn to work/wrench on, and fix up/restore over time. Its gonna be a long term project that ill be able to tinker with a lot, and have my build thread on here. I know it's gonna take lots of work, time, money, and effort. I live in North Carolina, but I'm willing to get it shipped so please don't overlook me just cause I'm not close. Looking to find one for $1000 or under preferably. Would also like it to have some extra parts included, so I'd have something to start with. It's gonna be my first project, and I know what I'm getting into so please give me some advice and let me know if you know or have any for sale. Call me at 704-516-4029, Email me at tennisfanbrysen@yahoo.com, pm me on here, or reply to the thread. I'm serious about getting one too. Thanks and please let me know.

One here on mud 1980, North Carolina I think. Mike

Roland is right. The recent auctions of pristine late model 40s have everyone thinking that their POS rig is worth a million dollars. saw a rust bucket in pieces buried in junk on CL for $7,000 last night. Unbelievable. Keep looking though. Once you get one it's totally worth it. Best trucks ever!

For sure I will. I've found my daily driver one (has to be worked on and have some other upgrades and stuff done before I get it) but I want to have a project one in my garage that I can learn to work and wrench on and eventually fix up and restore over time. What you said about people wanting way too much for a POS is very true and frustrating. I don't know why they want so much for them either (I understand they are rare and cool, but still). But I'm definitely gonna keep my eyes open and I'll definitely start up some threads with lots of pics, questions, and info when I do eventually get my 40's.

I agree that people are selling rust buckets for a lot of money!!! its crazy, people don't realize how much work it takes to get this things restored (or money) anyhow I think you should be able to find something (in bad shape, meaning body but running) for about 2000. I highly doubt that you will get any extra parts for that much! Parts are getting very expensive too!
