I was just looking at a Copar auction on a very clean in & out 2002 LX, dealer maintained every 5K with 118K. With stated estimate retail valve $13K (pre accident). Winning a Copar bid, I'd have about $1K in fees above auction winning bid, all said and done to my door with salvage title (if I won bid).
The hit was like yours (side impacted) but much worst. Front RH wheel leaning in, A & B pillar & rocker panel, both RH doors, front & rear RH wheels and tires, even console was moved from under body buckle, even third row would no longer lock in, likely frame, UCA, LCA, knuckle damage & steering rack.
Last bid I saw was $6,800, if I bid and won next it would have be $6900 plus $1,000. My cost ~$8K or more.
$8k would be about parts value over two years of working & storing to part out. So obviously someone, body shop most likely, bought to restore and sell.
I really have hard time with the high prices these totals go for at Copar, but they do.
This gives you idea of the hit you'll take on adjustment to keep. It's why most don't keep. That said it worth the shot to see what they say adjustment will be. I have had insurance company give check and just say keep, but not on a series 100.
