Today I installed the Prinsu roof rack made for the LX 600. I purchased it directly from Prinsu. It was not an easy install. I had to modify the mounting feet in the front and the spacers which go between the foot and the rail on the LX. It appears that the rail on the LX 700h Overtrail are slightly closer together by 1/3 to 1/2 an inch from the standard LX these were initially fitted for. I was aware that the web site said the rack was for 2022-2023, but elsewhere it note it as 2022 to Current.

Also, the install documentation has a number of errors in it. They say to measure 16 inches from the windshield, where as the proper install location is 16 inches back from the front of the roof rail on the LX. They also say to tighten the plus nuts to 20 foot inches. I even called support to confirm and they said yes because they read the documentation which is wrong. About 8-10 foot pounds was about right. 20 foot inches was not even enough force to get them started. They also say to use the phillips screws for the front foot because it is closer to the rail, but they did not include any of these with the install kit.

I have a few other tips if anyone else has plans for this and would like more observations.

Anyway, I got it done and it looks great.

How’s the wind noise? Looks great otherwise.

I'm glad the install worked for you and the finished product looks good.

That said, Prinsu won't be getting my money after reading your fiasco. I have no interest in fighting with bad instructions and will wait until I see a rack that is ready for prime time. Might just go crossbars and cargo box for now.

I have yet to drive it at speed. The front wind screen goes right and tight to the roof, so any noise would be turbulence over the top. I plan to put a roof top tent on, and when I do that seal the airflow from the rack to the tent. I did the same on my 100 and got no increase in noise or reduction in MPG.

The rack is very sturdy and solid and although the attachment to the rails requires drilling and putting in the expansion bolts, to me it makes sense and makes the rack part of the truck.

Another mod I did and would recommend: I drilled out the aluminum spacers which go between the rack foot and the rail about 1/16 of an inch on the underside. This allowed the head of the expansion bolt to fit within the spacer so that the face of the spacer was flush with the rail allowing for an even distribution of force from the foot of the rack to the rail. I am surprised Prinsu does not do this themselves as these spacers are machined aluminum.

Looks awesome! I do know that CBI currently has a 2025 700H Overtrail for testing so i expect that they will have some updates within the next few weeks. I love the Prinsu I have on my GX550 so I am looking forward to adding one to the LX.

This past week, I added the side panel and some Rotopax gas containers. I had intended to use two 3 gallon but the forward 3 gallon came to far forward and blocked the rear door from opening. So, at least this gives me an extra 4 gallons in this configuration.

I can second the pita install. Looks great and is super functional, but I had a large screw driver after that install.

There will be some wind noise… think the factory cross bars with the sun roof shade open, except it’s closed.

Damn these look good. Kudos to yall being the initial adopters and thanks for sharing your experiences. It’s great to see these on dirt.

I like the look of the Dissent rack, but I consider it vaporware if you can't actually buy it. Their site calls that a prototype and if you click on the info they have regarding lead times, the LX700 is not even listed.. If it's real, they need to have at least a few in inventory at any given time.

Looks like you can finally add it to the cart (as opposed to their other LX offerings).

True, but if you click on the "lead times" link, it's unclear when you will see your rack! I don't really want to drop $2k if it takes a year. I feel that as a business, they need to be much more transparent about when a customer can expect the product.

Whole lotta nothing in that response. "Our goal...don't know demand...laser went down...don't know lead times...we are backed up with other orders..."

If anything is going to curtail demand, it's this approach to running a business. These guys have plenty of time to post videos on social, but not actually make the parts they claim to make.

Where’d ya grab that from?? I really want to know about that tire size and wheel offset.

IKR, my Icon 17s are +25 (on my 200). I can't tell if those are 33s that look like 35s because they're MTs. Those sliders have me hoping Dissent will do some kind of package deal with the rack.
