SO! after MONTHS of sitting around im finally getting to the task of making my FJ my DD
i bought it pretty beat and banged up... heres what iv done
exchanged the VERY VERY redneck mismatched suspension that was on there for a set of 3 or 4" springs (the guy told me they were 3" springs but they look to be more than that... but idk for sure there is MORE than enough room for the 33/12.5s Firestone ATs im running now)
traded up from a soft top to a hardtop (and steel doors) they top and doors are about as rough as the rest of my body so it works.... still working on gap issues and things like that
the exhaust was ALL kinds of hacked up so i took everything off and went w/a set of headers, new pipe no cat to a muffler after sitting she produced a pretty fiar amount of white/grayish smoke... which cleared up alot just from running around today.. so hopefully that will work it self out

my questions are.
!)my wipers are pretty slow... fast on them is about the same speed as slow on the VW jetta im driving now... and im afraid that just wouldnt cut it if it really started raining, is this a sign that i need a new motor rebuild the motor tinker w/a setting or what?
B) my Oil guage reads a little low... not 0 but about 1/2 between the middle mark and 0, what could i do to up my oil pressure? (its new oil w/lucas stablaizer the pressure didnt change between what it had and hte new stuff)
other than that i think an alignment me top off the PS fluid i should be good...
C) my breaks pull one side then another... i plan on an alignment anyway but could that fix the problem? or do i need to adjust something on the breaks?? (yes they are bled properly they are new front pads, the back ones seemed to be ok so i just let them ride, stops alot better than before but the problem was the same b4 and after the new pads)

and if anyone has a bumpr front or rear... OR front seats im in the market....could also use a cheap winch.... rear selectable locker rear fenders or a tailgate (also planning on getting a set of these crusher corners BudBuilt - Land Cruiser Parts if anyone has a pair they want to sell....)

i know i know that goes in the classifide section but i figured id mention it since your already reading!

(or if you just happen to have a running diesel toyota your parting out i would take the motor & 5spd as well!)

I know someone else will chime in on this too...but on my '73 that I have now and my previous '73 the wiper speed between slow and fast was barely noticeable. For us here in Oregon, that makes for some exciting trips in heavy rain.

Yes, post some pics
What year are we talking about ? You probably need to do a good tune up on it. Also need to adjust the wheel cylinders. Make sure they are working properly and not leaking. If you have to start changing them bit the bullet and change them all. I converted mine to 4whl disk, I got tired of adjusting the brakes. I've got a 71 and the wipers are not the fastest things going. I agree in heavy rain it is exciting. My oil pressure fluctuates also, after it warms up it drops at an idle and picks up when accelerating.
Good Luck and enjoy

its a 1980 (disk up front) my camera cord is currently MIA as soon as i find it.. (or buy a new one) ill upload some pictures... nothing fantastic yet, iv got my eye on a set of suspension seats and if i can save the green im going to get them as a Christmas gift to the FJ... the seats arent stock the PO told me they came outa some kind of chevy... they look like those plastic dune buggy seats but a little bit thinner... the vinyl is coming up in places and if i was to get a look @ the frame its probalby made out of old coke cans...
is there an upgrade for the wiper motor??
