ARB cause thats whats on my rig. Even took stock lockers off to install ARB  cause IMHO the splines are tighter. Would be curious to hear Cristo's opionion on this since he's probably dealt with both more that anyone on this board.

am i hearing this right?

you took off perfectly good factory lockers for ARB's......... that makes absoloutly no sense.... unless maybe both were ruined or bad....

Never had an ARB but I've seen them fail. Other ARB's I've seen just sit on shelves waiting for install from 2 years ago. (you know who you are ;) )

My OEM's had never been used and took some exercise to get them working. I still need to tear down the actuators and do some maintenance.

The OEM are slow to engage and disengage IMO. Could just be mine and it's never gotten me in trouble, but, sometimes there isn't enough room to wiggle backward and forward to get them to engage. I don't like that very much.

My Detroit and Lincoln have never let me down in me 40. I went through, I think, 3 EZlockers. Never again.

You may have a hard time finding one with OEM lockers from what I have seen. I don't think retrofitting them would be any more difficult than doing an ARB install. Just different.

Do you have wax in you ears?

Yep you heard right................................................ :flipoff2:

As others have said and I feel the same way ARB's are stronger than stock and will lock quicker and in more difficult situations. To each their own.

Tooth fairy and others if they are working right your lockers will engage instantly when you need them,

If you think you will need them in the trail ahead flip the switch. if they did not engage immediately as soon as one tire on an axle starts to slip they will line up and engage,

I think the same thing happens with ARB's except you don’t get any position feedback with ARB's to know that they are not fully engaged yet

At what point does the strength of the factory diff carrier become a problem? They look more or less (the front more the rear less) as beefy as what Chevy puts behind their 8.1L BB and the Duramax, quite a sturdy drive train IMO, surely the factory setup is strong enough for a I-6 and larger tires, even turbo/super-charged,

I try to engage them before an obstacle and usually just the rear then I would like to kick the front in if needed. Saves on birfs. :D

Mine have definitely needed maintenance for some time and that's good to hear that if I get around to doing it they'll work quicker. Thanks. :)
