Pre-collision system malfunction (6 Viewers)

I’m leaving town to go to LCDC and my truck decided to give me a Pre-Collision System Malfunction. I stoped by the dealer who said clean the sensor, which was clean, and if that doesn’t work leave the truck and they will look at it next week, maybe. Needless to say, I just left town.
My question is, can I reset the system somehow? Or download an app to see what is giving me this code? I did grab an OBD2 dongle on my way out of town just in case. Thanks in advance.

I disconnected the battery and that did nothing. Can you recommend a good iPhone based code reader? Isn’t there some tech stream program….googling now

Hope you have already seen this....

Press the PCS switch for 3 seconds or more. The PCS warning light will turn on and a message will be displayed on the multi-information display. To enable the system, press the PCS switch again. The system is enabled each time the engine switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode.

■If the PCS warning light flashes or illuminates and a warning message is displayed on the multi-information display The pre-collision system may be temporarily unavailable or there may be a malfunction in the system. ●In the following situations, the warning light will turn off, the message will disappear and the system will become operational when normal operating conditions return: • When the radar sensor or camera sensor or the area around either sensor is hot, such as in the sun • When the radar sensor or camera sensor or the area around either sensor is cold, such as in an extremely cold environment • When a front sensor is dirty or covered with snow, etc. • When the part of the windshield in front of the camera sensor is fogged up or covered with condensation or ice (Defogging the windshield: P. 395) • If the camera sensor is obstructed, such as when the hood is open or a sticker is attached to the windshield near the camera sensor ●If the PCS warning light continues to flash or remains illuminated or the warning message does not disappear even though the vehicle has returned to normal, the system may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer immediately. ■If VSC is disabled ●If VSC is disabled (P. 375), the pre-collision brake assist and pre-collision braking functions are also disabled. ●The PCS warning light will turn on and “VSC Turned Off Pre-Collision Brake System Unavailable” will be displayed on the multi-information display

Alright. Thanks for the replies.
So far I have disconnected the battery, twice, to no avail.
I stopped at an auto parts store and their code reader would not show any codes. The worker said my 2021 was too new. But, thinking about it now, I should have just told him is was a 2016. Oh well, I wasn’t thinking that clearly.
I did try pushing and holding the PCS switch for 3 seconds. It would turn off the PCS for a second or two before the error message came back.
I downloaded a code reader to my phone, CarScanner, but it would not work with the generic ELM327 dongle I had.
So, for now, I’m just going to continue traveling towards Ouray and not worry about it. The truck drives just fine without PCS and cruise control!

Did you ever get this figured out? I'm getting this error now and can't find much information on it. I'm getting a U0235 code.

After the trip I went to the dealer and got it fixed. They first told me it was because my windshield was dirty. It wasn't. Then they said sometimes it just happens??? I can not remember the actual code, but it took less than 5 minutes and they didn't charge me or even give me a receipt.

I believe they plugged in their computer and reset it. It didn’t take long at all

I plugged in my Bluetooth OBD2 reader and cleared the code using my phone. This should reset the cameras and get them working again , but for me the code and CELs just came right back, immediately.

I did fix this, though! Someone pointed me towards looking at the camera under the rear view mirror on the windshield. I had just had the covers for the rear view mirror pulled off to tighten the screw holding the rear view mirror itself in place, so this wasn't a bad place to start. This is what I found...

The camera was unplugged! It must've come unplugged when I was removing the covers. I plugged it back in and the OBD2 code and all the errors on the display went away, immediately.
