Pre bent tube sections for armor building?

I was looking at this site in search of an economical way to build some side protection for my FJ60:

I was wondering if there was go-to source for this stuff that I hadn't found yet...?

There are a number of different places that sell mandrel bends on line. They are all about the same price. Using prebent sections is a lot cheaper than buying a bender and it only requires one extra weld at each bend.

Do you think I should get the internal sleeve things to make joining sections easier/stronger?

I wouldn't. A properly executed butt weld will be as strong as the tube.

Your choice. Tube sizes are in OD and they are slip fits with the next size tube, so you could use 1.25 inch 11 gauge tube to reinforce the joint of 1.5 inch 11 ga tube if you are less confident in your welding. Tube may be cheaper too.
