Well, I have been studiously ignoring my lj78 for about half a year but the time has come to do something with it. The problem with it is the check engine light is on and the turbo is spinning but doesn't give me any more power. Onr of my thoughts was that the computer somehow put the engine in limp mode and is not delivering enough fuel to the engine. Does anybody know of a mechanic in BC who specializes in these engines? Or.... does anybody want to buy it off me? its a 90 with a 3L head on it and a bunch of other mods and gadgets. I would sell it for less money then I put into it!!!

I had the same issue with my LJ73 when I got it, the problem ended up being a broken boost line. There should be a boost line coming off of the intake that goes to the injector pump(lets it know to add fuel when you boost) Mine had a splitter on it that goes to the boost lights. Check those lines for cracks or breaks.

x2 what "Myself" said.

When I dissconnected my waste gate and added a boost gauge, there were 1 or 2 boost lines that would sometimes pop off ( including my gauge "T" that I put in). Sounds like you could be experiencing the same thing, check the one line that connects by/under the throttle body. I never had the check engine light come on though, just the green turbo light didn't come on.

HTH,
Joel
