1990 LJ78 Prado EX5 - replaced head, bigger rad, all that fixed.

White smoke now out the exhaust, no power. Lots of blow when I take off the oil filler cap. Oil all up the dipstick. I think oil is being blown into the turbo and out.

Not a cracked head or head gasket, I think. Oil pressure is fine.

Breathing troubles? Injector troubles?

Any help is appreciated.

Pump the fuel filter and rev it to see if it smokes less, it may get better would suggest a fuel issue maybe air getting into the pipe fuel pump leak/fuel filter.
This rears its head sometimes, depending on which pipe has the leak, by hard starting in the mornnig as all the fuel falls back into the tank becuase of the air leak, usually in the return pipe.
I have seen 2 vehicles, an lj70 and kzj70 with pipes that have a hole as they enter the tank.
This appears on top of the pipe and does not necassary leak a lot of fuel so its not so noticable.

Although if you have excessive oil in the intake, does not that suggest the turbo bearings or seals and probably why it got no power?
Also you can smell if it is oil, and will be more blue then white?

You can wiggle the blades on the turbo to see if it has excessive play.
Not sure if an exhaust restriction could cause extra to oil to force through the seals of the turbo..

I am still learning so probably speaking out of my a*se.

But I may prompt some conversation

incorrect torquing of thehead leadig to head gasket failure and poor compression?

do a compression test and a coolant test and report back...

That makes more sense :), that would explain oil forced up the dip stick etc, water in the cylinder, I guess that white smoke is water burning? you would probably see water forced out the coolant filler cap?

You will see bubbles (exhaust gasses) forced out into the reservoir with a cracked head, bad headgasket.

Try changing fuel filter first. That might better your performance and get rid of the white smoke. (worked for me) Mine was recently replaced, but still for some reason blocked up after about 600km. Also maybe blow back your fuel line from the filter to tank. NOT TOO MUCH PRESSURE!

Mine does the oil blow back thing if I havent changed the oil and filter for a while as well. Got no idea why, but it does. Mine is a 2001 troopie, that I have added a turbo to. I tried pressure testing and the turbo and spent hours doing things I had no idea what they were. then I changed the oil and it was good for anothe 8oookms
