Folks,

I had this problem I noticed everytime i press button to go up on the driver side the glass window operates very slow but this only happened during the winter time when the outside
temperature drop around 40F, but nothing happened/ normal in the summer time.
Is that normal?

Thanks for all your comments & suggestions

Endless - Under 40 degrees in SoCal? Look a few days back on this tech thread, there was good info bout this a week or so back, what type of products to use and instructions. Most said it was the tracks/channels for the window are gummed up. I am going to dig into this soon. (MN - always under 40)

Yup, par for the course.

my 80 just started doing that a couple weeks ago, it is annoying

Although silicon spray on the channels does help quite a bit, it still will not run the same as in warmer weather. I think there's got to be more to it than the drag along the window channels. Maybe the colder temps. create enough tempurature shrinkage in the mechanizm to bog it down. Anyone have there's since new, and remember if it acted like this in cold weather way back when??

Kinda what I was thinking........40 degrees makes you a :princess:

This isnt a LandCruiser thing, this is just a power window/cold weather thing. Every car I have ever owned that had power windows were slower in the winter. There has to be something with the cold and the voltage.

Got it...

too much *BLING* on that thing :flipoff2:

I just replaced all the rubber on the DS window and it helps a lot, but my general suggestion is to keep your windows closed when it is cold out. A little less drive through food will be good for you!

Take apart the window controls and clean them . And spray the runner ... those two alone and now I can drive in -20 at 30 - 60 MPH for 45 mins with the windows down and then bring them right back up ! Before they would NEVER move after even a 10 min. session down in that cold .

:D... yeah, the winters here are kind of :princess:. Definitely not enough snow, usually ice. WTF.. it's suppose to be in the 60's and 70's next week. I'm breaking out like a 16 year with all this fluctuation.

Since I got the 80, I find myself looking at the weather to see if is going to snow. No dice :(. I'd move up north, but to may yankees :flipoff2:

You must have missed all those episodes of Dukes of Hazzard up there... does the term "Southern Belle" or the name "Daisy Duke" mean anything to ya' ? :-)

I had the same problem just last night trying to get home in 10 degree weather...ps window wouldn't go up for nothing. Used to be just slow, but this is the first time it's gotten completely stuck. Can't be good for the elec window motor!
