can a GM power steering pump be adapted to a 2F? anything else that would work with out costing over $400 for a new part.

keep in mind I have a dead 91 Suburban sitting next to my Garage ..... I can rob the whole thing from pump to gear box.

ok I just looked at your set up but I am dense. you bolted it to the 2F mount and ran an adjustment bar to the hole where thee smog pump used to be ......... used the middle pulley so you have 2 belts on the water pump and didn't need the smog pump as a belt link..... is that about right? what did you do for hoses and a cooler? what year pump are you running?

I used the OEM pump mount, my truck is desmoged, my pump, I believe is from a 70's 80 GM either Nova or a C10 pickup. Now if you need to keep the smog pump there is an aftermarket pump mount that has a built ii adjustment, so you don't have to remove the smog pump.
Check it here:
MAF 4+Plus Saginaw Pump Bracket for 2F Engines

i have the IPOR bracket on my 85 and i really like it. very easy install. after 3 or 4 rebuilt napa toyota pumps i would say this is one of the better upgrades i have done

I would need a pulley anyways, my pump is off a 91 and has a serpentine pulley on it, looking at though it is easily changed to a regular pulley. got to give GM credit where credit is due, that pump was the same for 30+ years

The Saginaw GM pumps are nearly bullet proof, thay are cheap and they are everywhere. Do it! I went through hell with my stock pump, I rebuilt it myself, still didn't work worth a poop.

X2 on the Saginaw!!:D

Are there any alternatives to the 4+ bracket to mount the Saginaw pump?

$169.00 is pricey.

and the IPOR bracket ($199.00)is only for the Mini Truck Pump right?

The alternative is invest the $169.00 and about $300.00 more, into a decent welder. I cannot imagine owning a Land Cruiser without owning a welder, a chop saw and various other steel working type tools.

Of course it can be installed. I paid for mine $50.00 about a year ago. Still holding together. I just posted a couple of pictures of my setup, the problem is I can't find the darn post. :bang: Just do a search, you'll find lot's of information on this.

PS I found the link: https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/173393-power-steering-pump-dead-need-your-help.html

That's why I'm still running mine with the "Jerry rigged" mount. The prior owner put it together and so far is working. Take a look at the pictures on page 1. :steer:

I agree about the welder.

I have a welder, no chopsaw, and fabbing that bracket is above my level of metal smithing skills. (unless I had schematics)

Im just now confident enough to try to Fab sliders.

yeah, what if you lack welding skills ....... then yo have to buy pre fabbed parts untill you got time to learn.
