Try a rebuild? I did a partial one of the seals and it was pretty easy stuff

Looks like that pump won't work for me after all. Site says not compatible with my June 86 60.

Not sure the replacement seals rebuild kit will work or just replace the whole assembly.

Rock auto had a good price a couple weeks ago but seems to not be listed any longer.

good luck. I when to napa and you can't order them any more, part is obsolete. Getting a rebuild kit is your best bet or a used pump from cruiserparts.net but your have to return your core.

People have not had much success rebuilding FJ60 pumps. There is a non-replacable bushing that wears out, and is still worn out after the seals are replaced. So it fails again in short order. Just order on from Onur @beno at Landcruiserpartsandconsulting. He knows FJ60s, gives great prices and is a valued member of the Cruiser brotherhood.

The new power steering pump with reservoir is still available new from Toyota for your cruiser.

That is the correct part number for your cruiser.

Their website fitment data for this part is wrong.

Bite the bullet and order a new one from Toyota. It hurts, but it is worth it in the end! I had to do it and don't regret it. Do it once and be done.

Thanks guys great info! I think I'd rather just do this right and then not worry about it.

My apologies for posting to an older thread, but I am about to order a new Toyota pump and had a question. Do I need to replace the pulley as well or can it be re-used with a new pump?

If your pulley is in good shape you can reuse it.
