Power steering box rebuild Qs

Ok so the P/S box sprang a leak over the weekend where the input shaft goes into the box.Thats a mess...

Local Toyota says they MIGHT be able to get an OEM basic o-ring seal kit in 6-8 weeks.

SOR ha a rebuilt box for $668.00 exchange !!!! $300.00 core cough cough...

I would probably be able to do a rebuild on this unit myself if I can get the right parts and a little help fromt he MUD pros.

Anyone know where to get a kit... either a seal kit or complete rebuild kit, OEM or otherwise quality kit

Do any of you guys have the FSM power steering supplement

Try rock auto, or autozone

Also, look up the FJ60 box port and polish thread. I posted the name and E-mail addy of a guy that had the kits for a 60 box. Most likely he has them for a 40 box as well.

West Texas Offroad will rebuild a power steering box for about $150. If they have the same type of box as yours in stock they might be willing to sell it to you for the cost of a rebuild (with your box as a core).
