I am in the process of installing an on-board-air system. I need to find a hot wire that I can tap into for the electric compressor. I would like this to be switched with the ignition. By that I mean I would only like it to have power when the ignition is on and to be dead when the ignition is off.

I pulled the fuse box cover off, (the one behind the battery), but I couldn't find anything to tap into.

Anyone have any ideas?

I appreciate everyone's help. Thanks guys!

I'll post pics when I am done!

That or find one of the heavy wires coming off the Ign. under the dash, I had to find a few while installing a remote start, I just dont have any shoes on at the moment or I would fine the paperwork.
Im sure someone will be braver than me :)
Good luck

The Aussie spec Cruisers have a box under the bonnet with power supply for accessories. There is a direct feed from the battery , one through the ignition and one through accessories. Do the US cruisers have this?

For my OBA and other crap, I'm using the CHARGE fuse under the bonnet to turn on a relay. This fuse becomes hot after the engine is running. However, I think it may be hot for just a brief moment while the engine is cranking and then stays hot for the duration after the engine has started. I may move my wire to the cig lighter.
