I know most prefer the black or charcoal powdercoat color but I prefer the OEM color or similar and my wheels need refinishing badly.

I know the wheel color changed to a more metallic look circa 2004 but can someone post a pic of their powdercoated wheels close to OEM for either the 2000 LC which I call silver or the 2006 which really looks better.

I have reviewed threads where people spray painted their wheels with success but I just don't have time to get the aircraft stripper and wire brush em and all that and would rather order the powder paint and be done with it. Please just respond with powdercoat info to keep the thread on topic.

Thanks.

If you want to go OEM color, I would call up Macco and see if they can spray a two stage (paint + clear coat) over the rims. The Macco near me will do my rims in high gloss OEM Toyota Slate Gray for $250. That is a OEM Tundra color. I have been meaning to go over and get them to do it...but something tells me I would scrape the paint right off...

My local powder coater has a slew of colors to choose from. I think gun metal would look great!

What I need are some good examples of powder paint color as close as possible to OEM and name of manufacturer.

Im about to order new rubber and want to get my wheels done at the same time.

You can probably find a pretty close match just from looking at some powder sample cards.

That being said, if you ever wheel your truck I'd recommend against PC. It's likely a lot more expensive than paint. If you prep the wheels, you can probably get a shop to spray them in SS for <150-200$. Then you can easily touch them up if they ever get scratched or damaged.
