Apparently, the cloth seats are better for the taller, long legged folks too. I think I still prefer leather. Seems more durable to me. Agreed on import into Canada as the speedo is in MPH.

Other observations: no rear lockers (though advertised), no power 3rd row windows, no rear AC, does have a sunroof, that style of steel wheel seems to be uber rare.

This is located down at my local dealer.

No leather, Steel wheels and no third row seats. I didn't know those were even options in NA.

I posted something about that truck the other day in the "Value" sticky...very odd beast! If you're thinking about it be aware that I don't think it ACTUALLY has the rear locker as there is no switch in the photos and it doesn't have the Timing Belt/Water Pump service done. I was kinda tempted with this one except I think I really do need the third row (at least occasionally) and it's WAY over priced.

Probably an import into Canada. I thought you didn't get the LC, only the LX. Oh how I would kill for cloth seats.

You're correct that all LC100's found in Canada were imported from the U.S. (or other places I suppose)...for some reason Toyota didn't deem us worthy of their best product! LX470's were available in Canada from day one though.

Cheers!

I looked at that truck. Lots of rust, components badly corroded in engine bay (e.g. MAF), no evidence of timing belt service and the sales guy was VERY ambiguous about that fact. Said TB had been done but back-pedalled when I asked for proof.

Agreed, asking price WAY too high. Looked purdy though...

That's good to know Hopalong! I was still somewhat considering this one and had asked the sales guy to send me some more photos including the engine bay and undercarriage...should be interesting to see what I get. That's the second one I've run across that looked really nice on the outside but had rust issues elsewhere .

Cheers,

I went down to look at it today. It was at the Toyota Dealership next door getting "work" done. Don't know what work was done but they told me it would be available to look at tomorrow.

I'll post up my impression.

Hmm, maybe they are Tundra wheels. Initially, they looked like 17's to me but 18's would be much more likely. Here are 17's with 35" tires on Gunney's old LC.

They're not any shadier than any other dealership I've dealt with. Didn't make it down there today. Sun was out so I went boating.

I think it's a 100 that was accidently ordered without leather...and some guy put the 18" Tundra rims on it. Those don't look like 16's or 17's to me. Last time I checked the "poverty pack" didn't have a sunroof or heated seats. I could be wrong. They state "leather seats" multiple times in their ad on the dealership, even in the video . The rear locker error could be a mix-up with the CDL button.

That's a better pic. Yes, 18's.

When ordering inventory, you can't omit standard features such as leather and 3 row seats. If that was possible you'd have all kinds of stupid s*** happening. I used to order vehicles back in the day. When I was at Ford in '96 I built and ordered a std cab short bed with 5.8, steel wheels, big tires, off road package, manual t-case, 60-40-60 seating, camper pack, tow pack, all power and Eddie Bauer edition. It was Awesome! Most were ordered in 6cyl with standard trans as there was a huge rebate and they sold cheap. Then I ordered my expedition and was the first at my dealer to have one in Dec '96 and after mine was built Ford had a shortage of their off road alloy wheels that shut production down and only base cloth were shipped to the dealers. I sold mine at auction 6 month later and made money.

Also you can't order what you want, if so the dealers would only order what sells and holds the most profit and not order Rav4's and T-100's. they won't let you do that. Your offer allocations are based on prior years sold numbers.

Unless it was a special services vehicle, then you could add leather, wheels, roof, wheels etc.

If it was in WA or OR state I could tell you where and who it came from.

Looking at the '99 brochure, leather and 3rd row were still options, along with the sunroof, rear locker and rear climate control.

Based on your experience at dealerships, was it ordered by a customer or a dealer for inventory? (I think I know the answer)

If it has a decent amount of rust, it most likely didn't come from WA or OR...

Speaking of cloth, I remember seeing a '98-'99 with cloth and a TRD supercharger for sale early on in my search for a 100 (1.5 years ago or so). Forget where though.

Here are some stock 17's.

I think and not 100% sure, but I think the brochure was wrong as they are printed far prior to production.

I still think it was a special service order as we did for govt vehicles. Those combinations were never public and listed as code and description. Maybe it was ordered and then canceled prior to delivery?

Example, I bought a never in service 1993 Mustang LX with police pursuit package that was traded in at Toyota (when I was big into Fox bodies) I knew what to look for. Here in Oregon they were white with black alloy wheels, ugly blue interior and drum rear brakes. They had a GT40 intake, Tremec 5-speed, gearing and posi. They were VICIOUS out of the box, but rarely ever in not seen that had not been in service. This was sold at Damerow in Beaverton and was a mis-order as agency wanted crank window, this had power, so they retailed it.

Also, I am asked every time I order carper "With or without rear 3 row seats" and the part numbers are different. I think I might order without and see what I get.

Hmmm, good point, I've seen more than a few brochure claims never end up in production... '99 would have been the last year cloth was "Standard" here.

Having the VIN may help end this speculation, anyone in the area up there have a look at it yet? Get the VIN? Not that this is a big deal, just some good old fashioned car geekery, (which is incidentally what I do for a living, haha).

Good stuff with the pursuit Mustang! I have a special place in my heart for Fox bodies, in late '87 my dad ordered an '88 LX 5.0 to his liking, Midnight Blue/gray cloth, 5spd, power windows/locks, pretty basic and low key, but 5.0L Fox fun. I was 8 when he got it and he kept it for 10 years, it was an awesome car that I fondly remember.

Is it just the seat mount cutouts that differ perhaps?
