Having recently discovered that my engine is a 5.0l V8 TPI Camaro engine (OK I knew it was a V8 - just not a 5.0l:doh: ) I want to fit a Safari snorkel, how did you guys filter the air, as I have a cone shaped K & N fitted directly to the intake ???

I could be way off but, I thought fords made the 5.0, GM would be like a 5.3 or so. That is a good looking setup tho....

For a TPI motor you will have to fab something up, I would look into some
OE air boxes that you can install inline from your snorkle to your throttle body.

Sweet motor, I love the 305 personally, great combo between power and fuel consumption.

The LS1 is a 5.7 (350). The tuned port fuel injection that he has is in both 5.0 (305 Chevy) and in 5.7 (350). The Ford 302 is also a 5.0, but I am not sure of the liters on the Chevy 302 of the mid to late 60's, it was offered in some versions of the Camaro.

Late 60's Chevy 302 was the DZ coded engine in Camaros, particularly the Z28.
Bore and stroke at 3x4. 11:1 comp. Would be a terrible motor for a truck unless your doing mud drags or something. (8K redline)
However, they're getting more rare and would probably out value the vehicle your puttin it into.
FUN motor though.

Matt, I would say you have a great starting point to run your intake to the side either using an existing intake housing like on a Gm or Chevy truck or else make it from scratch.

Thanks Mr Green, (the engine is a 5.0l tuned port injection 305 1990 Camaro engine) I was more interested in how best to filter the air than the routing of tubing
