Isn't that your job has some kind of relation with your Landcruiser. Or just a fan of 70 series?? Like me, I really need this Landcruiser for my work. ;)

You see a lot of "War Lords" driving Toyotas in parts of Africa but I assume they are not familiar with the Forum:)

Age is 61 (almost) and retired at 55 as a professional pilot.
Started wrenching in my dad's garage after school to help him earn money for the family. That was at the age of 12. Got my own car when I was 18 and had to do an engine overhaul rightaway. (Only payed a few bucks for it, knowing the engine was almost dead.)
Fell in love with Landcruisers in the 70-ties of the previous century when my employer bought a 40series but could not afford one untill the mid 90-ties, when I bought my HZJ 73.
Have been driving it on trips to Morocco and Tunesia (Sahara desert), to Russia and Kazakhstan but on trips to other countries as well. It's also my daily driver (when not driving my BMW K75 bike) and it will pull our caravan every now and then during 'holiday'-trips.
Over 250000 kms on the Odo and still going strong, despite me doing all the maintenance myself .:D:D

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with Mission Aviation Fellowship - I'm British but currently based in Uganda.

Former field engineer...

Self employed builder of Land Cruiser armour. I love my job and the people I get to meet doing it!

CruiserBJ70, you're in Malta? I didn't know Land Cruisers existing in there. My parents are Maltese. All the times I've been there it was ruled by Suzuki Samurai's or Jimny's, I'm not sure what you call them there.

Telecom field service technician. Get to check out lots of gnarly roads for work, getting up to cell sites, but thankfully I get to beat on the company truck.

For sure, F350 crew cab, with the diesel motor. Work and personal trucks are both diesels, but jumping from the work one into the personal one is quite a bit different....:D

U.S. based Airline pilot (25+ years) flying mostly European routes.

Estancio is an aka (of course).
If I told you my real name and real job ... well I'd just have to kill you, or retire, or both.
Or maybe they would kill me. I will say that I am happy we managed to get thru our 18-day revolution.

I am happy you guys got through your 18 day revolution too! I was getting tired about hearing about it!
(just kidding) I am glad not too many Landcruisers got Vandalized
The last time I heard about Egypt was when Anwar Sadat and Priminister Begin (Israel) were having peace talks . That was when the former president was protecting Egypts skies (fighter pilot).

Good Luck Estancio

Yes there are Land Cruisers here, but not very common. Most common are the Prados and LJ's (with the squarish headlamps). There might also be a couple of 80's but you can count those on one hand... In fact I find it really hard to find parts (especially interior and trims) for my restoration project :frown:

Bikeaholic... have 3 in my garage.

Canadian Army for going on 14 years now, mostly IT, some sat comms, mostly in s#!ty places like Bosnia and Afghanistan, but now I get to hang my hat in Germany for a couple more years... the beer here is good, the bikes are fantastic, and they have left hand drive 70 series cruisers... whats not to like?

Tuddern...so a safari in a cruiser is no problem.....just around the corner.. :D
