Sounds like my place may be the spot. South Oceanside, freeway friendly just off the 5 and the 78. Coast friendly for those who don't have cruisers in freeway condition! :grinpimp:

Noah should be there.

Bring the girl. Sienna can hang and kick tires, throw up on the driveway or snooze in the spare bedroom.

Dom's needs some tune up attention,
Calixto's needs some fuel line work, to replace the hose and improper routing of fuel inlet.
My FJ55 needs a fuel return line made.

For anyone else needing fuel hardlines(pump to carb), I am going to bring the tools to knock these out... you will need to bring supplies. hardline, olives(compression ferrules) and nuts if youre missing them. Old carbs/fuel pumps are good sources of the inlet and outlet fittings.

Napa has the 51" 5/16" hardlines you need(813-1234). return lines should work with the 40" versions but the supply line is very close to 40" and you might not have enough length.

here are my thoughts:

Tune up items, timing, Compression tests, plugs wires, etc. are pretty easy, and wont make too much mess.
Custom battery cables are pretty easy if someone has a crimper or there is a west marine around.

Ideas?

I'll bring up a couple of my homebrews for tasting and drag along some of my extra parts so people can look thru to see if they need anything. I do have my old Rochester carb I pulled of for the current stock one so I'll bring that.

Hey Brett what type of fitting should I buy to cap the old return line/Banjo fitting that is being used as fuel delivery right now. Scott worked on sealing this thing forever and told me not to remove it so it might be a good idea just to cap it if possible so he doesn't ring my neck next time he sees my truck. It has just a standard rubber gas line running into it...is that 5/16"?

I'd say keeping it sealed is a good thing, but... if you can't work on it then it's not "right" now is it? We should get it sealed correctly so you don't have to treat it like a Monet.

I'm up for all of the above. I guess I better get the garage organized. I've been putting it off since the motor swap... :o

I have a battery cable crimper...

Sounds like it's gonna be a good time.

Look forward to meeting everyone

Pretty sure my 40 can't make it that far but I'll plan on making it up there and getting some "education". Can someone PM directions contact # etc.

OK guys, it looks like 25th is on at my place. Let's try to pick a good time for most. Any suggestions? People with time restrictions? Brett? Anyone?

Noah and I discussed a few options of "To Do" list. I'm open to any suggestions...

As Brett mentioned before making some fuel lines, and maybe making some brake lines. I have the tools as well as Brett so we could cover this. Welding overview, etc. I have a welder and I'm sure Noah could bring his...

Any other topics?

Anyone interested can PM me for directions...

Right!, I got three strippers and two hookers scheduled for the 25th.
You guys be good this time, I don't want to have to do the late night off road trip, to bury the strangled hooker.

Ya, I've had a few tonight..........beers that is.

:flipoff2:

dude, you got issues....

you're more fxxxed up than me! :)

mmmmmmm strippers............

no restrictions on time for me, I think welding 101 for people would be interesting if there are those that are coming that would like to learn more about basic welding?

another thought, how about replacing a birfield? this is something that everyone should know on their cruisers as it is basically the weak point on the axle and many times most likely to break. If we had a spare axle that would work best as we could just pull it apart and show generally how to put it back together without having to have somebodys truck down for too long.

Noah

Noah, sounds great about both items! I'm def interested in learning more about both. Not sure about where to pick up a spare axle.

Shane in terms of the little road trip last time....I told you my cousin had a pig farm in Temecula and we really didn't need to drive that far.

Sounds like a party........
I think I can come up with axles- maybe one of each - Ball & Claw and Birfield. I could take the axle off the 69 pig and have an earlier one off the 45.

We related? I got pigs:grinpimp:.

X2 on the welding info.

What time is good for everybody?
I was thinking around noon. How does that work for you guys?

OK, I'm thinking noon is perfect Scott. Gives us sleepyheads some pillow time and is early enough to actually get some things done before the 5pm sundown crap that's happening right now.

So here are some of the topics we're considering:

-Birf repair- If Tim can pry his hands off the tractor steering wheel and bring one down.
-Building brake/clutch lines
-Clutch master rebuild
-Welding 101. I have a MIG welder 2 helmets and 2 sets of gloves and a very small amount of scrap metal. Oh and no skills. Hmmm... might need more wire...:hhmm:

I'm not very interested in making this a BBQ because I don't want to have to play good host to all you kooks and slave over an open fire, but there will be beer. It can go as late as you guys like but I do have to get up at 430 on the 26th fockers.

Oh and I'll be sure to shutdown all the computers so we won't have Shane posting up half s***-faced on all his threads.
