My best bang for the buck has to be the cdl switch w/7 pin mod and Hi Lift jack.(each under $75) No more pinging from the birfs in low range ( didn't look too bad during repack ) and much easier to turn on hard pack. I love the Hanna sliders I have on my ride but they are a few more bucks.

just for the record on the porsche cayenne thing There is no cayenne turbo "s" there is a cayenne turbo and then there is a cayenne "s" which is the non turbo 345 hp normally aspirated version the turbo is 450 hp twin turbo v-8 keep in mind that about $3000.00 dollars worth of computer chips takes the cayenne turbo well into the 500 hp world. I love my 80 but it doesn't have a ghost of a chance of keeping up with a cayenne turbo or even a plain old cayenne "s" for that matter. I can speak from experience as I fix the stupid things all day long, but in the same breath my 80 will go alot of places cayenne's only dream of!!

Sorry jerseyfzj80, I disagree. The weight of the 80 will help prove it can keep up with the porsche. Just drop both off a bridge :flipoff2:

Hey, if someone were to drop in a say hi to you, would morning or late afternoon be better? Just figured I'd drop in some time for a few mins.

1991 FJ80

I've only had it for 3 days so my mods are extremely limited.

aluminum Ultra wheels 31 x 10.5 bridgestone duelers
93 running boards which I will probably remove
Brush guard
That ugly Purple tint

Wish list

ARB Bullbar with winch
Hella lights
New tint
K&N air filter
New paint job (original color) the paint has chips but don't look to bad probably original
More power some how (I heard there isn't much to do for 91 & 92 models) as for the engine

Best mods 1997 LX 450

1. I would say best mod so far is the Pioneer navigation system radio.
She can't find her way out of s shoe box so this really helped!
2. Next is definatly the TRD supercharger, I feel it brought the power up to where it should have been from the factory, nothing more and nothing less.

By the way saw that some one got an intercooler for theirs, any ideas where i can pick one up at, and did it make a big differance?

FZJ80 1995, all 3 rows of seats occupied

Best Mods:

1) Buying a relatively low mileage 80 from a seller in my city that was already built exactly how I wanted it and had all of the 90K preventative maintenance and more (including head gasket) already performed by Slee, and putting 100% of the purchase price into the loan. I easily saved $4K total.

2) Britax car seats that lock down tightly while still retaining a good reclining angle, so that little heads can sleep peacefully on the trail.

3) My expectations. OME & 33's locked will handle 95% of the trails out there. I don't need a 6" lift...I don't need a 6" lift...I don't need a 4" lift....I don't need 4.88 gears...I don't need 35's....I don't live in the Australia Outback...

4) Flare removal
5) Trxus MT's
6) Slee sliders
7) Garvin roof rack

Worst Mods:

1) Tow hitch

Most Needed Mods:

1) CB
2) Tube bumpers

If my dad's truck were mine and used the way it was designed/built, then:

'96 FZJ80 factory lockers - green, sits in the garage mostly

1) Safari Turbo w/ intercooler
a. Turbo Timer
b. Boost and Air/Fuel Mixture gauges
2) ARB front bumper (I would get a winch bumper though)
3) Sliders
a. In my dad's opinion: black painted plywood attached to underside of sliders to keep rocks from dinging/rusting paint on sliders and rockers. I don't know if I'd try that hard, but they do help and you don't even notice them.
4) CDL switch
5) Cupholder

If it were mine, I would OME lift it, rear bumper, dryer skid plate, get real tires on it, pin 7 mod, Scolaro LEDS, and DRIVE it! It sits in the garage too much...:frown:

-2 100w Pro Comp 6" offroad lights ($50) (also, will be installed tonight)

Don't have one yet, besides wanting to replace these stock oe tires, Continental Conti-trac SUV tires.

Future mods:

-Nitto Terra Grappler AT 265/75/16
-Lift & shocks
-Rear spare tire carrier

Best

It's amazing what happens with a little time.

1. running boards gone excellent mod
2. Remove the brush guard don't need any extra damage
3. Procomp 33x12.5 a little extra clearance and a lot more traction
4. In dash CB good for using on the trail
5. cd player, speakers and sub always nice to have good tunes
6. FIAMM horns bang for the buck nice now people actually look when I honk
7. sliders are a work in progress yes it is a pain to build but will be worth the protection

Up next hopefully tax time
1. OME heavy with trim packers in front extra height will help big time
2. ARB winch bull bar good looks and the strength has been told over and over
3. Iron pig off road rear bumper with tire carrier looks beefy and cheaper than most
4. set of 5 steel wheels in black I hate the aluminums on it
5. Mile marker 12000# winch never know when you'll need it and I wheel with samurias sometime and they couldn't budge me if they had to.
6. Remove the roof rack and repaint the truck above the side molding Line X below and the flairs

8. Front & rear bars, winch, f&r lockers and dual battery system was on truck when purchased it
