Made a WTB trailer ad and this popped up. 70's bed with the original frame. He wants 500 CAD. I need to wire in the lights but other than that its road worthy.

Long term plan would be to sand and repaint the entire thing, and then spray rhino liner in the bed. I have never done body work before, so i would be learning how to do everything on this. I would also get bigger tires and swap leafs (Or get blocks) to permit them. Also would get an articulating hitch as i would like a trailer to do some wheeling with, so i can bring a fishing boat down to some nearby lakes.

There is some decent body rust, a few holes, some decent dents, but it looks like the frame is in OK shape.

I know nothing about trailers, so i wanted to bounce my idea off you guys for some advice, in case there is anything i am missing.

should be a fun project. In my parts, though, I don't think that would sell for $500, even Canadian ones.

Ended up buying it, got it for a decent deal and i split it with my brother. Gonna slowly refinish it to look half decent. The box is in pretty rough shape, but we are building a trailer to go off road with so we don't need it looking pretty. I guess ill turn this into a build thread and update it as i rebuild it.

Friend of mine has more or less that trailer, but from a Datsun truck of about the same era. He uses its OE fuel tank to haul fuel for the various dirt bikes etc. that get hauled in the bed.
Typically those beds are longer behind the axle than in front of it. Because of this you need to figure out how you're going to get enough tongue weight for it to tow stably at speed. Most use a tongue box full of whatever on a long-ish tongue to get there.
