here's the deal, not too long ago, i finished the install of the medium OME, with extended shackles, and extended sway bar links in the front. for a while, it was doing fine, without any weird noises. about a month ago, its popping, like it did before the new suspension. everything is tight, and torqued right.

what could it be?

busted birf? They sometimes "pop" when they are about done.

Sounds like the much discussed bushing popping which some people insist is the OME leaf packs shifting. Grease the heck out of them and post if it goes away. 99% sure it will.

If you changed your steering stabilizer with your OME kit, retighten the ends.

Also check tie rod ends and relay rod ends.

Re-check torque on all u-bolts.

Hit the leaf packs with spray lithium grease.

Check sway bar bushings and mounts too.... Might be a loose shock?

I'm gonna have to go with GLTH and say shifting within the spring packs. I wouldn't really worry about it.

me too

I am having the same issue after the same install of OME but without the extended shackles... I have re-torqued everything but I think I left out the steering stabilizer. Will check that and shocks, spray with lithium and post the results as well.

Shifting leaf springs. Nothing bad, they just shift. Flex the spring packs apart and spray some lithium grease in there.

Polyurethane just does that and it doesn't matter who makes it, whether it be OME or Energy Suspension. Grease is the only cure, but it is temporary. If you buy or make a greasable shackle, you may find some more permanent relief. Mine popped like mad shortly after installing them about twelve years ago, and a splash of water made it worse. Now, I have either become deaf to it or they don't do it any more, I don't know which it is, I'll have to go drive it and pay attention.

Years ago I was told by a friend & 4X shop owner that urethane bushings will either work quietly or they'll squeak, and once they squeak they're done and it's time to replace them. Mostly he was referring to Rauncho bushings as that is what he sees the most. He also is religious about only using silicone grease on urethane. Petroleum greases oxidize urethane & cause them to fail earlier than they should. MAF told me I could use petroleum grease on their bushings. We'll see how long those last.

shifting springs, mine does it at almost every turn of the wheel,,, I need to tighten the spring clamps

Guys, it's just mis-alignment of the tie rod ends. As you turn from left to right or vice-a-versa the connecting rod will pop the other way unless the tie rod ends are perfectly aligned. Loosen one nut and turn the rod so the opposite tie rod is facing the same way. Easy fix.
