Can someone help me identify what part is #5 in the first picture of the intake manifold. I noticed that mine is broken and was wondering if it is causing the P0401. Thanks.View attachment 3867375
This?

Part number is based on my 1997 FZJ80

Yes, it seems to be it. I have a 1996 FZJ80. I can't believe I couldn't figure it out:bang:. Could this be triggering the p0401?
The only correct answer is could be, but not on the top 10 list. I recently went though this the hard way - chasing every idea in random order and missing a lot. EG-180 of the FSM should be your guide. Initially, I cheated on the VSV test and simply pulled the connector to test it electrically. Replacing the VSV because it could not hold a vacuum was the last step I took to clear the light. In between? The TB ports were completely caked up and impassable an the EGR valve pintle was sticking. Along the way? I replaced every vacuum hose.

It is not a fun one.

After resetting the codes and driving 50+ miles on surface streets, the scanner still showed the CAT and EGR as INC. Drove on the freeway and after 20+/- miles the CEL went on and it was the P0401 that came back. Unfortunately the smog check in CA allows only one INC. Will have to invest a little to get the EGR resolved. Can anyone recommend someone that could do this job in the Los Angeles area at a reasonable price? Thanks.
