I pulled a plug wire to check its' resistance. Previous posts have stated that if they are under 25ohms there is no need to replace.

The one I checked was 8ohms! Is that possible with 116k miles on a 96?
 
I guess so, you measured it correctly, right? :D

Yep it's possible to have one with lower resistance. Too low and you start to get ignition noise on the radio, too high and you loose some of the spark in the wire. The Factory Service Manual says 25K max per wire. Generally longer wires with have a higher resistance. My shortest wire on my 94 with 150K miles on it, has a resistance of 12K.

Nothing wrong with a lower number, it just means that more of your spark is getting to the plugs!
