Long shot here but does anyone know what a standard replacement for the plug cover screws could be?

Just looking for a few i could pick up at the parts store today opposed to waiting and paying shipping on OEM? TIA

Do you have any left? Or the shorter ones that hold the plug wire holders? Take one with you to the hardware store, I believe they are m6x1.0.

According to the part number, they're M6 x 50-mm long. These would be special, because they have a screwdriver slot in the hex head. But you don't care about that, if you're going to a hardware store.

M6x1.00 was definitely the wrong pitch but iirc Lowe’s didn’t have m6x50’s in any length… appreciate the info!

Ace True Value. Stainless or zinc coated.

I don't think they'd be 50mm. That's 2"

No way the boss in those covers is 1¾" thick

Part number gives you clues on the bolt dimensions.

90159-6 05 08
dd ll

dd = diameter = 05mm (will be 0.8 mm pitch)
ll = length = doesn't always make sense. I would guess 38mm for this one

They are M6x1.0 x 30-mm long, with a captive washer and a 10-mm hex head. I just measured mine. This must be a new(ish) parts number; they used to describe the fasteners :(

Your interpretation of hardware is not always correct from your posts. Your posts tend to be correct in standard interpretation. You are usually incorrect when they enter semi-standard allocations or location/function specifications.

Hardware only follow standard or semi-standard protocols; this is an instance of semi-standard.

Well, I figured it was something like that :)

@travisimo : why not just order the correct original bolts/screws (are you near Fox Toyota?). The correct Toyota part will fit (and look) right, also eliminates the possibility of error and a bad result. MSRP ~$2.00 each

If you order them Monday you could have them by Tuesday morning assuming they're in stock at the regional warehouse.

FWIW

After checking at ACE as suggested above, they didn't have a single M6x50 anywhere, I ended up just ordering the parts from the dealer and now we wait.

These bolts are definitely m6x1.0 pitch x 30mm long on the threads and 35mm overall just measured with my calipers.
