I thought I would update my findings. After almost a year with a new MAF the truck is running fine! No more issues.

For anyone looking up this thread, I had very similar problems with my truck, in that it would die when i would come to a stop. In my case it was a coil pack that had gone out. I was fearing the worst, but it was a pretty easy fix.
