Just wondering how loud it is if you are sleeping in your rig with it on all night.

with that being said i myself am an extremley light sleeper and have no problems sleeping with it on

This is a great alternative to the espar heating system which is commonly used in the marine and RV industries.

Specifically applicable to those looking to outfit their vehicles for expedition purposes. Diesel heaters use very little fuel and produce a whole lot of heat. There should be no diesel smell. The only sound you will hear is the fan or air moving thru any ducting you install.

Weekend bump to come out at the hammers so wont be able to respond til monday

I got one of these from Mr. Heater and love it. We use it to heat the main room in our house as well as for camping trips. Rated at 18000 btu's, super easy to use and cheap.

Your solution sounds interesting but seems like too much trouble for the cost and not quite as universal and useful, at least for me. However I could see if very nice for an rv type of setup, especially if you are already using diesel.

Great but open flame chance of igniting paper etc etc cant be ducted cand be mounted cant get propane in a mountain town at 2 am the list goes on and on so as far as that goes ill stick with the extra cost to have great heat reliably where i can get fuel for it anytime day or night and also for a product will last a lot longer then the propane heater. Oh and to add to the list that heater is not forced air like the planar so it may heat 400 square feet but how long does it take. The planar can do it in ten minutes is thermostaticly controled has an available wireless remote and the list continues. But hey everyone has an opinion and its good to have options

some very good points! thanks......

No problem. And sorry if i came across as a jerk it wasnt my intentions. Just showing the major differences between these snd everything else

no problemo, that's whats it's all about, just does not fit my needs (hell, I live in san diego) but I can see the system being very useful in always cold climates.

I live in the UK on a narrowboat. I'm interested in one of these units. I see it's over a year since you last posted on this thread. How has your Planar heater performed in the last year? As these heaters are manufactured in Russia, and can only be sourced via the USA, I want to know more about the reliability and availability of spares. Any information you can provide would be very much appreciated.
