Asking $3200 and I can get it on a pallet and ship or deliver in person within a reasonable distance.

Located in Pittsboro, NC and I can get it on a pallet and ship.

I've got the transfer case and manual transmission out of my 79 FJ and since it's getting LS swaped, this is just taking up space.

My friend gave me the swap kit and he thinks his rig has about 75k on it. I put another 5k on it to get where we are now, bit this is a 40+ year old vehicle, so the true miles are unknown with any certainty.

Includes 4 speed to Chevy 350 bellhousing, used flywheel, used clutch, and clutch fork. (clutch and flywheel not pictured, but do not slip or chatter)

Shifted fine, makes no unusual sounds when driving, and goes into gear as it should.

It's obviously not new, so it's sold as is, where is, without a warranty, of course. LOL

At my asking price, I'll include a somewhat rare auxiliary fuel tank, as well. (last pics attached)

DM with questions.

A couple of observations that should help you in the long run.

First, the transfer case shifter mechanisms and the front nose cone are several years older than’79. So, unless you are the one who installed them, the mileage on your odometer will not serve as a reliable indicator. If the linkage is a reliable indicator, it’s more likely that your unit is a 74/75.

Second, V8s are known for putting a lot more stress on the powertrain than the stock engine. So, where a pic of the inside of the case is always useful, pics of the inside of a case run behind a V8 are essential.

I would recommend shifting the case into lo range, and taking pics focused on the high speed gear.

Third, the tailshaft of the 16 spline 4 speed transmission is also a known wear point. If you remove the side and rear PTO covers, you can wiggle the input gear to see if it is loose on the shaft. Pics aren’t as helpful for this aspect, as much as how you represent it in terms of wiggle.

GLWS

P.S. Smart idea putting yesterday’s date on the paper in the photo. We’ve been seeing an increase of people lifting pics off the internet and posting things for sale that are not theirs.🙁

Thanks for the tip, dude!

I picked up the transmission earlier this year from friend along with the rest of the conversion. His FJ had around 75k on it, and I've put less than 5k on it after that.

To your point though:

A have no idea how accurate HIS mileage is, nor where it came from, so let me change the original post to reflect that I *THINK* it's got 80k miles on it, but the true miles are unknown.

I'll also get better pics as suggested, inside and out, where I can, as well as seeing if I can get some video of the tail shaft play, if any, as well.

Again: can't thank you enough for the advice, man.

The transmission has the side PTO cover which does sound like transmission and transfer case been together since new. That style transfer case shifter ended 4/75. Setup is most likely fifty years old or close too it. For the price would want to see the transmission tail shaft for wear. Not sure the cost for parts and labor for a new tail shaft but wouldn't be cheap.

I'll get better pics and video as soon as I'm able and if it needs work, I'll be reasonable about the price and value adjustments.

My goal is to always deal in a way that's fair to both sides, so I'll be as helpful as I can.

Thanks again, dude!

Quick video.

I can pull whatever covers you guys think I need to open up to make sure it's still in good shape.
