I am moving forward with the OH of my F155. No rush, but I would like to borrow a ring compressor when the reassembly starts. This is a tool you need about 20 minutes every 25 years, so I didn't want to buy one. Anyone interested?

Thanks

Those pistons are about 90mm? About the same as air-cooled VWs? have a couple piston ring compressors I'm not using right now, I'll see if I can dig them out...

yes, have 3 sitting on the living room table now...

I will be using oversized pistons and rings. Does that matter? I am in no rush. I will be hopefully sending the block to the machine shop this week. I will order the kit after they look at it. Then wait until it gets here. If I get a compressor by 10/15, I would prob have it back to you in a week or so. Thanks.

You guys let me know, if Pighead is tied up with the flooding, I can send mine.

I can't remember what I paid for mine, but shipping back and forth would seem to come close to the price of a new one. Maybe not, I'm living in the past most the time. :)

Who sells them for a pig? I can check on price of new before going to the trouble and expense of two way shipping. Realistically, it is a tool that one of which could probably serve the entire pig community.

Yes, that'll work. Stock bore on an F is about 3.5 inches, oversize piston won't be much bigger. Always ask your machine shop if they can order the rebuild kit, they can often get it cheaper and it will fit. Also ask your machinist nicely if you can borrow their ring compressor...or sometimes your FLAPS will lend them.
