So I found the rattling thanks to a friend that had another friend with the same problem.

When I clean it out and squirt some silicone in it, can I use regular silicone or should I use some of the high temp silicone to secure the cover?

I just took my loose one off, kinda beat on the center of it to "shrink" the hole and pressed it back on. Fit nice and snug.

Thanks Degnol, I might have to do that...rather not disasemble the flange for that repair. I have read others do this so I am considering the silicone. What's your thoughts on the silicone?

I can't see as how it would hurt anything. Clean and degrease it then put on a bead and let it sit overnight.

I think I will try that first, then if it doesn't take I'll modify the shield. Any comments on regular vs. high temp silicone?

I doubt it matters, especially for a temporary fix so use whatever you have on hand.

Hey Degnol, I see you have the white knucke sliders. How do you like them? I've got a set on my 40 and they are great! They make for great pivot points when you need them and a lift contact for a hi lift jack. I have used mine for that a number of times.

I like them very much. Even installed them solo.
