I haven't had the pleasure of attending this event yet. Is this geared more toward fun around the water than wheeling? I've been up on the "main" road up to Hull Mt a long time ago, but I've never really explored any trails. Not sure what to expect.

Bob, it's really what you want to do, relax, swim, fish, wheel, there's some light wheeling trails about 10 min. out of camp that are kinda fun.
Tim
PMC takes over the group camp there at 4:00PM July 5th to July 9th at 12:00pm

The June newsletter is late due to Rubithon.

Lets confirm the dates for the Pillsbury Group Camp.

This is a family oriented social event more than wheeling. Yes, you can bring your 4x4 and wheel, or you can bring the Honda Accord and simply hang out, visit, camp, BBQ and nap. :)

I can hardly wait...

PMC Pillsbury Group Camp

It's time again for the Pacific Mountain Cruisers Group camping at Lake Pillsbury.
4:00pm Thursday July 5th to Monday July 9th
This is FREE to all PMC members and families, please keep all dogs on a leash

How did Tony know I like to wheel my Accord?

I'm planning on being there.

I plan on making it with kids, tent trailer, kayaks, the kitchen sink, etc. Hail the mighty 22re! btw it has been years since I have been to Pillsbury. Are there still two roads? which is the better one?

Take the left route... the logging road is closed due to slide I think, plus just tore up.

To confirm some rough directions...

From Hwy 101, take Hwy 20 East.

Take left towards Potter Valley.
At the store in Potter Valley, take a right towards Lake Pillsbury. Go over the hill, then take the dirt road on the left side, 15 miles to Pillsbury.

At the stop sign near pillsbury store, take a left. go over ridge, look for group camp at Boat Ramp, right hand side.

or something like that.

I wont be able to make it this year to many things going on. I hate to miss it so have fun and have a  for me.

Sad to say but I also will not be attending this year, just to much to do.
I will miss the fun, and fun there is, enjoy all.:frown::frown::frown:

the only road open is the county rd to lake pilsbury the last time i asked i was told they will no longer open the loggin road due to the cost of repairs and red tape in obatining permits since it is no longer used in active logging

warning to all who use map quest or google earth they still show acess is through the logging rd

also they call the county rd by 2 different name one is eel river rd and the other is elk mounty rd witch if different than the nfs maps

Directions Continued:
Follow the road to the center of the small town of Potter Valley: turn right at the business called "Hoppers Corner".
Follow the winding road over the hill and across the bridge at the bottom, then turn right.
Follow the dirt road for 11 miles.
(Note: If you have a heavy load, once at the peak of the hill go to the left and it will loop you back around to the bridge.)
At the end of the dirt road will be a stop sign. Turn left

approximately 2 mile to the lake

yall have fun

could call these guy to make sure

No stories, real lite turnout. The hole area was deserted thru the week, I think having the holiday in the middle of the week really made it hard for people to get away. But it did make it nice on the lake, hardly any other boats and plenty of warm weather. Also the big winner of the PMC $100 raffle was Cindy Twiddy (I mean Tony Twiddy) right after she said that they never win the raffle.
SEE YA at the swap meet-
