Turned out to be a really good picture of Stubbs...aka "chubbs" He was waiting for me to feed him this morning. If it's one thing this horse doesn't miss, it's meals.

1 of 2 Great Horned owls that live at our place. 1 is really big. Not a great picture, but they are kind of hard to get a good picture of with a phone.
There are 2 hawks about a mile down the road that want nothing to do with our place with the owls there. So far they haven't taken any chickens, ducks or barn cats from our place, so there must be plenty of food they are getting.

Every night they are hooting away. Somenights at 3am, it's not as cool waking you up...but it beats sirens or loud car stereos any day.

You can't give these things away fast enough. They keep making more. I think we have finally stopped this from happening...for now.

Only good thing is that between the owls and barn cats, there aren't a lot of mice.

What is a bucket calf?

We have a pond out back that comes alive in spring and all but dries out over the winter. We had a very large amount of rain last year and the pond got really good sized. Kids were out in the little fishing row/river boat. The frogs were deafening at some points last year. Every night just hundreds and hundreds all over the driveway...which means splats all over the driveway.

Fun for the kids to see them from tadpoles up to full size.

We have 3 of these things. They are pretty much worthless aside from laughing at them. They are on the short list to be eaten when the zombie apocalypse happens. Nigerian Dwarf Goats. They jump quite well and will try to get into anything.

First time seeing a bald eagle here. They winter about 20 miles from here on part of a lake.

Terrible picture but it was really low flying, just above the barn on the first pass.

They will clear poison ivy like a pro.
