Pics of the Kaymar Rear Bumper......not bad at all...

Why on earth would you need parking sensors on a STEEL bumper? :D :D

I'm liking the look but I want to see how the latches and hinges are in person. I love my ARB on my Wrangler so may stick with that just for some strange obsession with making the two same-same. It's an Arab thing.

To be honest..there have been so many deaths around my area from parents or other people running over their kids in the driveway that I would have them installed if my car didn't have one!

what ever it is that total package of an ass of a crusier rivals the ass of my girlfriend, and hers is a perfect 10.
A comparison picture would really help here. ;)

Is it an Arab thing, or an ARB thing :D ?

okay okay I was just joking.... with a Kaymar or an ARB you wouldn't be worried about damage to your own vehicle. ;)

But you are right, reversing aids are a great safety feature.

Am I right in thinking all Land Cruisers in the USA have the Navigation system with the rear camera? Over here in the Middle East it's actually possible to get the cars with no audio system at all.

I just put one of the 3.5" reversing cameras displays from these guys on the Jeep. Having a 35" spare tire on the back makes rear visibility difficult.

Gentex Auto-dimming Mirrors with Rear Camera Display from MITO Corporation Excellence in Electronics for Auto, Car, Truck, SUV, RV and Boats

Bloody good systems. Amazing integration.

My Land Cruiser will be one of the entry level vehicles but I'll certainly be fitting my own camera to it.

I thought I should clarify my reasons regarding the rear parking sensors...

I hate having to have to pay for an option, just to pay more to get it removed. That was the only reason I was bummed about the Kaymar not having holes predrilled for the reverse sensors.

Man-A-Fre said drilling the holes for the parking sensors should not be an issue.

When I inquired about getting more clearance they said that without removing and cutting into the frame and placing the tow hitch differently there was no way. It is as close as they can get.

MR SLEE: From these pics and you working on a 200....do you agree with Kaymar's statement about "no way...close as they can get"?

Yes I would love the answer to that also.

Take the angle grinder to it and the worlds your oyster I'd say. I suppose it comes down to how radical you require it. Any mod to the tow bar would require engineers certification in Australia to be legal.

I would say it is pretty close to being as tight as they can get it, especially that back. The wings could possible be slanted a little more, but not sure what you would gain. There is a lot of body behind those wings.

Seeing the Kaymar and ARB offerings, we are not sure if we are going to proceed on a rear bumper. We have always felt that we try to put a product in the market where there is a gap and not just duplicate the functionality of available products. Obviously due to company size the development of a rear bumper like this is easier to absorb for ARB or Kaymar.

I never liked their offerings on the 80 and 100, but on the 200 I must say, that are not bad.

Well I am glad to hear that they did a good job on it. I am also sad to hear that you are thinking of not making one.

Is this an official announcement? I don't want to get TOO sad until I hear it is official. :crybaby:

*cough*get back to the 100s*cough*

I do like the Kaymar rear a lot, looks very clean on the 200 design.

I was just reading back through this thread and never saw a mention of price?

What are we looking for as far as cost + labor?

I have a running spreadsheet going of "to-dos" :D

Unofficial Kaymar pricing:

Kaymar STD Wheel Carrier w/o wiring harness specify side $1,049
Kaymar STD Wheel Carrier w/wiring harness specify side $1,249
Kaymar double Jerry Can Carrier w/o wiring harness specify side $1,049
Kaymar double Jerry Can Carrier w/wiring harness specify side $1,249
Kaymar Kit STD Wheel Carriers both side w/o wiring harness $2,029
Kaymar Kit STD Wheel Carriers both side w/wiring harness $2,229
Kaymar Kit STD Wheel Carrier LHS, Jerry can carrier RHS w/o wiring harness $2,029
Kaymar Kit STD Wheel Carrier LHS, Jerry Can Carrier RHS w/wiring harness $2,229
Kaymar rear replacement bumper, can be fitted after carriers are fitted $1199
Kaymar Kit rear replacement bumper, lights, LHS wheel carrier, rhs double jerry can carrier w/o wiring harness $3,159
Kaymar Kit rear replacement bumper, lights, LHS wheel carrier, rhs double jerry can carrier w/wiring harness $3,359

Don't know if these are real or not...not sure where I got them...don't know if this is installed, or just parts. Basically this post is worthless, but will give you an indication of what pricing will be on these bumpers and accesories.

Not sure if DTT mentioned it in an earlier thread, but the bumper itself is one unit. Any tire carriers or jerry can carriers are extra, and mount into the back where the red reflectors currently are located.

If I did get this bumper, this is the kit I would get...but damn that's $$$$!!!

Yes it is not cheap. Considering that the ARB is ugly, and slee is not going to make one....we may not have a choice.

Competition is fuel for the economy and what drives prices down! :hhmm:

I suppose there is a bit of engineering gone on with the rear bumpers. Do we know the price of the ARB design, for a comparison. The LC 200 is not a easy 4x4 to intergrate anything with.
