There is a mint 55series ,80series brouchures and a 67 40 series advert from a readers digest on Aust ebay at the moment.
John,that79-80 non US ad for the red diesel could only be Canadian .Its LHD,diesel, talks about prairies and has a logging theme as a backdrop.

Good question Razor, I have often thought it would be cool to step back in time and see what it would have been like to drive my truck brand new out of the showroom..........Dazz

I had the wife drag out the old photo albums, I found my first toy rigs I bought new at the dealer long ago in colorado.. I cannot for the life of me remember ever seeing any FJ40's or having any interest in them......bummer, can't get enough of them now....

I'm not so sure the dsl 79 is canadian. the 45 has a semi floater(cdn would have had FF), AFAIK canada didn't get the long wheelbase bj44, also no dash pads on(not sure if cdn got pad or not). I think it makes mention of Euro spec someplace, odd with the english. But I have a world spec for 88 that is in English, all kinds of wierd stuff.

Try as I might, I could not find a picture of my first (and brand new) FJ-40. I think the problem was that cameras had not been invented yet...... or the fact that as a poor hippie, my meager income was not sufficient to buy film...... or else (more likely) in 1969 it was being spent on recreational pharmaceuticals.

It's a shame, but, 'only thing I could find is the bank's finance form for my Cruiser.
This will have to do in lieu of a photo :-[
