The Lx model was an Australian only release im pretty sure. What what ive found it was there top on the line model, it come from factory with the power steering, air con, three windscreen wipers, rear sliding glass windows. It has dual bench seats, so both are forward facing so it can seat six, and it had full in car trim. Bull bar I'm not sure about as it was on the car when we got it but the mud flaps i would assume were factory as they are built into the factory rear bar. Thats just what I've found in my research, feel free to correct to me. I might do a build thread up soon that will have a bit more information.

I see possible factory installed options:
1 Three windshield wipers
2 Fender flares front and rear

I see possible dealer installed options:
1 Bull bar
2 Sliding rear side glass
3 Mud flaps

1982-1983 LX models had a 4 speed box, late 83 ones and 1984 got the 5 speed as standard.
Bar would have been the std front bumper from factory,
A/C depended on options ordered
LX was also Japan and Phillipines
Sliding rear window, same as troopy's,
Zebra upholstery,
plastic trim around rear cargo compartment, join to the roof and around the door frame,
Brown vinyl floor up front and brown sort of mod grass looking stuff for the rear.
Brown seat belts as well
a few extra brackets on the body for support for the rear seats

Thats the one, always good to learn some more information. As the windscreen wipers i think that may have been Australian only? Or was that an option for all lx model?

NICE RIG MATE
Thanks mate

Where in queensland are you? when I went to Australia queensland was my favourite territory

Im north up in the Townsville region, about 1600ish km north of brisbane. Up in the good part of queensland, besides the heat of course.
By the way, queenslands a state not a territory.

Nice. I went to cairns, cape tribulation and brisbane and I loved that State. Sorry about saying it's a territory

Cairns and cape trib are pretty good for sites and off roading, plan on taking my car all the way to tip hopefully some time in the next few years. Its all good, common mistake don't worry.

Send pictures as soon as you start off roading there. I've nice memories. I remember that certain season you can find poisonous jelly fish at cape tribulation.

Thats this season currently, box jelly fish all off the coast line.

This was just this morning, about 20mins from home, the picture as usual just doesn't give justice on how steep it actually was

This is the view from a bit higher up on the same track

yeah it was a great view when theres no clouds, for only 20 minutes from home its a good start, probably head back in there in a few weeks and try find the track thats in the bottom picture as theres hundreds of different tracks spread around in there

3 wipers were for any LX model anywhere the market had them. They have since become an expensive item to purchase, up to $1000AU but do clear the screen a lot better. You can turn a 2 wiper into a 3 wiper set up but you need another set of wiper arms to get the rotating bits from.

Ok thanks for clearing that up, lets just hope i don't have to replace them any time soon.

you shouldn't have to. Might be some rust to cut out but otherwise they will last a long time if looked after. Even then the mechanism is still good so get a 2 wiper screen and swap the mechanism over after noting the extra metal work on the inside around the holes.

I wouldnt think so either. We have only found the smallest bit of rust on one of the doors but besides that its rust free. We have a sare parts car with the 2 wipers so we've already got the parts if needed but doubt i ever will

@Ofd is it soon yet?

Not soon yet, still in winter mode here. Going south for a few weeks in March then will put the FJ for sale, so I guess soon is end of March or beginning of April. Here she is sleeping in her heated garage

I have a 1980 the the PO painted yellow but i'd like to take it back to the factory color, which is coded as color 621 Rustic Green on the VIN plate. According to the online charts it's not offered in a 1980 model.
Wierd...
It's definitely not the john deere green, 681 i believe, that was offered in 1980.
The touch up paint from Cruisercorps is way bluer when I spray it at unmolested areas like the firewall and under the dash. Does rustic green change that dramatically over time or was I being too optimistic about the color match? I'd like to stay OEM but that rustic green color from Cruisercorps isn't up to WAF (wife acceptance factor).
Any words of wisdom?
